Hey all -
I *just* booked my ticket to see Larry Fishbourne in THURGOOD during the last preview performance next week. I'm curious as to what I'm to expect at the Booth. I've never been there, and with AA-108 I'm certainly hoping for the best. Any and all insight appreciated.
Best,
- Mike

Huzzah! Many thanks, tiny (as always)!
Stage isn't high, or anything? That's really my key concern, that I'll be sitting there and I won't be able to make him out throughout the performance. Again, I'm 'young and stupid' - That's my defense!

Mike, I must say, you crack me up.
Every time you buy tickets, you start these threads saying:
"Hey everyone, I'm sitting front row center Orchestra. Could anyone tell me if these seats are any good?"

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Come'on now...
It's not *always* like that.
In truth, I don't know what the set looks like for this one, and I just don't want to be obstructed by ... whatever it may be. It's silly, I know. My apologies, my friend.
For those who HAVE seen ths show, am I in for a treat?

Depending on the play (I have not seen this one) sometimes it's Row BB, cc, then A. Sometimes a couple of rows are taken out, and it starts AA, BB, CC, A, B. I would not worry, though. You're almost dead center.
BTW, are you guys who see EVERY play millionaires or something? I'm jealous, and I work in the theater. We NEVER get freebies anymore.

LlM, have you honestly ever gotten a bad seat before? If you have, then maybe you should let us know which front row / center orchestra / premium seats we should steer clear of.
The Booth is a great theatre. Very good size, and the mezzanine has great sight-lines. The paint color is a little dull. Another bad thing about The Booth is that the bar is right in front of the stairs in the lobby, and there's like no space. It gets hectic during intermission, which makes it a little difficult to walk downstairs to the restroom and back to your seat.

Posted: 4/25/08 at 3:22amThe title of this thread is confusing - many people call TKTS "the booth", so I thought you were asking what was at TKTS recently until I read it. Weird.

Posted: 4/25/08 at 3:38amHow about the actual seats - Are they 'cozy' - or - will I be in dire need of some meds afterwards? Haha! Thanks for the help, guys! I'm hoping it becomes one of my favorite houses, up there with the Jacobs and the Lyceum and the Hirschfeld!

Posted: 4/25/08 at 6:36amI had sat in Row AA 101 and 104 for The Seafarer and I felt like I was in the living room with them. The stage is incredibly low.

You're in a prime spot for Thurgood, and you'll probably walk out of the theatre with a healthy measure of Larry Fishburne sweat on you
. Just make sure you've taken care of any bathroom issues beforehand, because it's 95 minutes with no intermission, and where you are, you really can't get up to go.

You will get spit upon.
And the Booth seats are VERY tight, yes.
