Not sure if it's been discussed in previous threads, so, I figure I'll start it here. What do we think of Pascal taking over? I think it a very inspired idea, and would definitely think him apt to pull it off.
Mind you, I'm fantasy casting.
Did you mean Steven Pasquale or Pascale Armand?
I think the OP means Adam Pascal. That being said, I think he and Steven Pasquale would both be GREAT choices.
Waa most definitely referring to ADAM PASCAL, original 'Roger' in RENT...
I'm not even a fan of his (not a hater, either) and I think that could be a really good fit.
It's too bad Andy Karl is busy. He'd be perfect.
Adam Pascal would be interesting but could he do the comedy?
Personally I don't like Adam Pascals voice and I don't think he could do the comedy needed to pull off the role. I think Andy Karl would be perfect, but as you say, he's busy.
why's he so busy?
The "Groundhog Day" musical, Gypsy.
He's in London doing "Groundhog Day" which may be coming to NYC.

ohhhh yes I forgot. is he playing the main role? the Bill Murray character?
Will Chase
Eric Sciotto (one of Borle's current understudies)
Tveit? Don't see it....but won't he busy filming his new tv show?

Personally I would love to see Rick Holmes do it. His Black Stache in Starcatcher was one of the best things I've seen on stage, so I would love to see him follow Borle in another role.

And if we're going down that line of thinking, Matthew Saldivar also comes to mind. He too was very good as Black Stache, and could totally pull off Shakespeare.
James Carpinello would be great, if they were to look into stunt casting I'd kill to see Neil Patrick Harris do it.

Supposedly Nashville is getting picked up by CMT, and Will Chase may be under contract still.

It is all but confirmed that CMT and Hulu have picked up Nashville for the fifth season (http://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/cma-music-festival/2016/06/09/cmt-picks-up-nashville-fifth-season/85643912/) and he is already under contract for two seasons, including this one. He's not going anywhere. Sorry, folks.

After seeing Steven Pasquale in Robber Bridegroom, I think he'd be fantastic.
Does Borle have a last day announced yet? (Going in a couple weeks so looking forward to seeing him)
Seeing ANDY KARL in SOMETHING ROTTEN would be A DREAM!!! He is SUCH a talent and would be perfect for this role... But I want him to keep doing new shows to help his chances of winning the TONY he's deserved TWICE now!!! SUCH A TALENT -- I hope GROUNDHOG DAY is a SMASH!
Since it can't be ANDY KARL I think the role should go to ERIC SCIOTTO who is also a talent!!! I would definitely see him on the stage even though I hated the show ...

I think Eric Sciotto would be perfect for the role:

Judged only from this particular clip though
My ensemble friend says Christian is leaving either the 16th or the 23rd (I think it'l be the 23rd because Heidi, John, and Kate are all leaving the 16th so that would just be A LOT) and that they haven't been told who's being considered or has already been cast but that it's a name. I was thinking Will Chase but now Nashville just got renewed by CMT so...
I would love to see Zachary Levi especially since She Loves Me is ending before Christian leaves.
James Carpinello would be great! So would Will Swenson now that I think about it. I thought about Matthew Saldivar too but would he want to replace Borle again?
