Borle's ROTTEN! Replacement

James Carpinello would be great! So would Will Swenson now that I think about it. I thought about Matthew Saldivar too but would he want to replace Borle again?

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Re: Will Chase: The full cast of Nashville is under contract through a potential Season 6. But that doesn't mean the network can't choose to write characters out for story and/or budget reasons. Given that CMT has a smaller budget than ABC, if they're going to cut cast to save money, Will's character is more on the fringes of the character web and would be one of the logical choices to trim or demote.

I do feel this is a role that lends itself to stunt casting, especially if the show needs a boost (does it need a boost? I haven't been keeping track of the numbers lately).

I was thinking Will Chase but now Nashville just got renewed by CMT so...

I would love to see Zachary Levi especially since She Loves Me is ending before Christian leaves.

I assume you mean July?

Yes, sorry I forgot to specify. I know that Falsettos rehearsals start August 9th or so, so he may stay til the very end of July.

i've got 99 problems and a revival of parade would solve like 94 of them

I wonder what Christian's future plans are.

Christian's future plans are the Falsettos revival.

I too would love Eric Sciotto, but he is out of the show for a while around that time directing/choreographing "The Full Monty" regional in Nantucket.

As with the recent replacement announcements, I'm thinking they'd go for a somewhat bigger name though?

The show probably only has to the end of the year, so it could be good short term stint for anyone available.

After seeing him turn on the charm in Robber Bridegroom, I think Steven Pasquale in Something Rotten might give a couple audience members heart attacks. Adam Pascal is an interesting choice. I can't hear his voice singing those songs but it's another rock star part that I think he could do well.

Something Rotten just tweeted a picture of Corey Cott, with a photoshopped frilly collar on it, saying something like we're glad to have you join us at the Renaissance. It was deleted within a couple of minutes, they had his twitter handle wrong so I assumed they would correct it and tweet it again. It's been a few minutes since and still nothing. But could this be the replacement? I thought he was supposed to be coming with the Broadway transfer of Bandstand but with Paper Mill's comment last week that A Bronx Tale was further along in the process than Bandstand, maybe this is what Corey Cott is going to do in the meantime?

Negative. Their entire feed is photoshopped images of people who have attended the show lately. ETA: Tommy BRacco (Newsies alum) posted a photo on instagram that they were both there with a group of friends. https://www.instagram.com/p/BGpvJPJmCe6/?taken-by=tommybracco

Thanks for the link Ellen. I've been re-watching the 1:28 mark a few times before moving on. =)

The replacement has been cast. They just scheduled rehearsals to start next week. I'd expect an announcement any day now.

Per the show's Facebook, Borle is leaving the show on July 16.

Less than a month away. I have to assume they already have his replacement in place.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

So glad we'll get a chance to see him before he goes. Is Borle usually there or does he take days off? We're going on Monday night, so really hoping to see him.

Since he was mentioned earlier in the thread, Will Chase isn't returning to Nashville for next season, as per TVLine. Not surprised, they didn't do much with him last season.
