I second that. Luckily, all four of the replacements have played their respective roles before so it should be a smooth transition for all of them. I'll be there on January 31st!

Sorry, this may have been discussed but does anyone know when her contract will be up? We're not coming back to NYC until October and would love to see her... We saw her once when Idina was out and she was great.

She will most likely sign for a year...so she will leave the first or second week in January 2007.

Now, I might actually want to see the show if I am in NY.
Like I have said before, I am personally not a big Sho fan (though there are man) but what I have heard of Eden singing - wow.

Is she Jewish as well? 'Cause I've noticed that so far many of the women playing Elphaba were Jewish and/or had Hebrew names. (Idina Menzel's real name is Adinah Mentzel, and Shoshana Bean's first name is the Hebrew word for flower.)
Incidentally, I loved her performance in Brooklyn and I've heard some *cough* clips *cough* of her singing with Kristin Chenoweth, so I definitely have to say she is going to be dynamite.

LOVE AND LUCK to Eden Espinosa (Elphaba), Derrick Williams (Fiyero), Cristy Chandler (Nessarose), Carol Kane (Morrible), and Katie Adams (Glinda standby)!
All phenomenal performers who have grown their legs and proven their skills!
After the AMAZING experiences I had at the San Francisco Wicked Tour engagement, I couldn't have wished a happier day for any of them! This is so fantastic and promises to be a very positive new Wicked cast generation! I can't wait to hear/see how their opening night went!

Break a leg new Wicked cast!
(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."
