I'm seeing it too.
It's not coincidence...Google shows you the ads that best relate to what's on the page. Like if you're looking at a page about the Boston Red Sox, there might be a baseball ad.
She's accomplished more than most performers ever have. She is an ICON, and no matter how much you may dislike her, you can NOT count her out. Even with NO promotion at all her new album has sold close to 6 million copies. How many other people do you know that can manage that?
I concur. Her image is only just turning back around, but she was and still is one of the biggest stars on the planet. I am guessing only a very small fraction of people on this earth don't know who she is, and an appearance on Broadway would be a major coup, especially if she pulled it off (and despite the fact that thousands of internet Broadway chatters would be waiting, fangs bared, to tear her to shreds.)

She is an Icon and when she comes back I think she will be bigger than ever.
IF she quits the drugs...
I don't think she does drugs anymore now that her father is taking over her life.
Her father is a smart man to turn it down. She could never do it. She is too fragile. If she were cast, her name would need to go over the title. Refunds would be rampant.
A.) Her attendance would be worse than Fantasia.
B.) No one would insure her, so producers would not hire her.
C.) She can't sing live for more than a song or two. In concert she only sings ballads live and cannot sing and dance at the same time.
She is getting things back together, but she can't jump into anything too daunting or she will crumble. A Broadway show, paparazzi, stage-dooring would throw her over the edge.
I'm honestly happy that people still like Britney. I can't help but feel bad for her instead of totally reject her. I mean for so many years she was my favorite artist... as she was for many other elementary school girls.
I want so bad for her to make a full turn around and kick the bashing media in the arsh!
For the role of Sandy, I think she might have done well if it was before her bad girl change. She had the image of a sweet girl. And obviously she wouldn't have a problem changing into the new Sandy.
But I think right now isn't such a good idea... for her. I don't mean to be mean, but honestly, there are so many ignorant people out there who don't care about plays and musicals. If she's gonna come back big, she should go back to records instead of the stage... for now.
Maybe later.
when I read the title I thought this was one of those threads that was intended to be one long stream of funny banter.
I'm severely disappointed that the OP was serious.
Oh shoot I might have to take this silly quiz.

Ashley Spencer is going to be a wonderful "Sandy!" Britney Spears doesn't even compare to her! Ashley can do it all--sing, dance, and act! She is a fantastic performer! Plus she can outdo Britney anytime with being consistent--it was very rare for her to miss any performances in "Hairspray." She is going to be amazing in "Grease!"

I have to totally evil -- when I saw the title of this thread, all I could think of was they were casting her as the dog in Annie.

Britney an artist?! You have lost your mind. What "art" has she produced? Look up the definition of "art" or "artist." Popularity dose not ART make. She is famous for being famous. What has she said? What has she done? What has she done besides show everyone that having money, being rich and famous doesn't make you happy.

First, Grease casted it's leads off of a television show. Next, they hire Taylor Hicks to bring even more publicity.
Britney Spears?! Even as a dog in Annie, it would be a disgrace.
"...it was very rare for her to miss any performances in 'Hairspray.'"
I saw her in Hairspray and didn't like her that much, but some people said that she had been sick around the time I saw it. She seems like a real trooper if that's the case!

Casted is not a word. The show was cast from a reality show. Everyone knows, when can everyone get over it?

I loved Laura Osnes, but I'm sure Ashley will be fine. I think Britney could do a great job once she gets "well." She used to tour and I'm sure that was a REALLY tough schedule and the show was all about her. I've never been a huge Britney fan, but I wouldn't count her out yet.
