I will be in NYC this weekend. Broadway Barks is this Saturday (July 11th).
Can anyone give some insight on the event?
Should I try to attend?
It's always a lot of fun. Many actors from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows showing off adorable dogs and cats up for adoption. It's all for a good cause. Very relaxed and not show-bizzy feel at all. The animals are the stars of the show. You get the feeling the actors really want to be there.
I seem to also remember some performing by a select set of actors.
The only sad part to this event is that Mary Tyler Moore hasn't hosted in at least 2 or 3 years. She used to be there with co-founder Bernadette Peters. I hope she's OK and I wish her the best.
I may just have to check it out. Thanks for the information.
I think last time I was there was 2013 and we were outside for about two hours just to get a good view. If you want to just walk around and look at cute animals, then there won't be much waiting. Just a crowd.
