Broadway Break-Up Songs

i'm not trying to sound depressing - i'm just trying to think of songs or quotes from songs to say to a friend as a joke

re: Broadway Break-Up Songs

Wouldn't anything from THE LAST 5 YEARS be suitable?

"Serious" Legally Blonde
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I? I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

"Legally Blonde" from Legally Blonde.

If Losing My Mind counts as one, then Could I Leave You? should probably count at least as an I'm Going to Either Break Up With You Or Beat You Within An Inch Of Your Life Song.

re: Broadway Break-Up Songs

The song from CABARET is "Maybe This Time" not "Maybe Next Time"... in case the poster wasn't joking.
From my iPod break-up playlist (sad, but I have one):
"We Do Not Belong Together"-SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE
"Wherever He Ain't"-MACK & MABEL
"Time Heals Everything"-MACK & MABEL
"Could I Leave You?" and "Losing My Mind"-FOLLIES
"I Know the Truth"-AIDA
"With So Little to Be Sure Of"-ANYONE CAN WHISTLE
"There's a Fine, Fine Line"-AV. Q
"Someone Else's Story" and "I Know Him So Well"-CHESS
"And I Am Telling You..."-DREAMGIRLS
"So Long, Dearie"-HELLO, DOLLY
"Still Hurting"-THE LAST 5 YEARS
"Dividing Day"-LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
"Without You"-MY FAIR LADY
"Simple"/"Be On Your Own"-NINE
"Farewell Letter"-PASSION
"Knowing When to Leave," "I'll Never Fall in Love Again"- PROMISES, PROMISES
"No More"-SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE
"You Made Me Think You Were in Love" and "Tell Me on a Sunday"-SONG & DANCE
"I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair"-SOUTH PACIFIC
"Forget About the Boy"-THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

re: Broadway Break-Up Songs

Not really a break-up song per se, but I would count "Casualty of Love" from The Wedding Singer as one. And if you don't count that, "A Note From Linda" is definetely one. re: Broadway Break-Up Songs
