"The A Chorus Line tour wasn't doing anything last Saturday."
I went on Friday night and they made a speech, and were selling posters.

For all of you looking to buy 33 Variations items. Be very careful, I've had to go back to the theatre multiple times to exchange posters (I had to buy 3 for various friends who wanted them). Not all of them are signed by everyone. There should be 12 signatures in total on the complete poster.
Carolle Shelley signed about 20 Billy Elliot posters and would not do any more. Every other poster is missing her signature.
Hair and Rock of Ages will not sell. They are still in previews (ROA just started last week). Hair doesn't even have posters in at the theatre yet...

I noticed Carol Shelley didn't sign a lot of them when I bought a signed poster. I looked through the pile until I found a nice one with her signature. The guy selling them didn't seem to mind.

She signed the Wicked poster I bought from the drive several years ago.

Is the Guys and Dolls poster out yet? If so, anybody know how much it's selling for? Thanks.

I bought a signed Mary Poppins poster for $25 (from Nelius). I thought it was more than worth it for that price... especially after seeing what some other shows charged.

Excellent news about West Side Story...not so much with the price though. Too many posters have gone up to $100 this year...some of which don't have that many signatures on them in the first place. I'm glad that they got the posters out though so we don't have to wait until next November. Do a quick glance though to make sure that all key signatures are on there. Like I said in another message, there were signatures missing in 33 Variations and others...
I hope other shows that ended their previews and officially opened right at the beginning of the BCEFA period participate. The cut off is sometimes in the grey area, so it's good the WSS is going. Anyone know anything about Exit The King, Impressionism, or God of Carnage?
WishingOnlyWounds2 - who is this Nelius person you speak of? Was the poster $25 from the New Amsterdam theatre? If so, since Ashley Brown left, they really cut a large chunk out of the price. They were first $60 when the show originally opened.
Anyone else with new please keep us posted. Oh and Guys and Dolls starts participating this week. No posters in yet (why the hell haven't they printed them yet? I was told about a month ago that they were printed and arriving to the theatre and Triton Galleries on a certain date earlier in March...no luck yet)...so I'm guessing they may do donations and HOPEFULLY some signed program - and again, hopefully with more than just the four leads. They are the only ones that sign anyway at the stage door.

Last weekend, Billy Elliot had OBC signed posters for $100, and playbills signed by all the Billy's for $20. Ave Q. and August didn't have anything.

Just a quick question, does anyone know if any of the shows have some kind of deal with Playbill so they can ship the posters/items overseas?
I grabbed some the past two years when friends were in NYC, but this year without that avenue, needed another alternative to grab some of the current shows.

Does anyone know if any of the Off-Broadway shows are doing anything. I remember the Marvelous Wonderettes were very serious about bringing in donations in the fall and ended up raising the most money out of all the Off-Broadway shows.

I'm bumping this because I need to vent for a moment. I'm on one of the online teams at the BC/EFA website and I sent the info to several of my coworkers and friends. One of my coworkers emails me back about how she gives donations on her "personal" time and this isn't for work. Every day we have people asking for money for their kids' schools, sports teams, scout troops, etc. Just on Monday one of my coworkers sent out an email asking for sponsors for a walk he was doing to help shelter dogs. Yet, BC/EFA is "not allowed"? Puh-leez. Just people who aren't in charge trying to be in charge.
End of vent. Anyway, as I said, I'm on one of the online teams and if you actually do want to help me meet my goal PM me and I'll give ya the info.

Happy to say that the touring company of "Avenue Q" is participating.
They were here in Omaha, NE last weekend. It was such a fabulous show! Made me feel like I was back in NYC with the curtain speech and cast collecting donations. They were also selling signed window cards for $40.

As of right now the Marvelous Wonderettes aren't selling anything. The four actresses are standing in the lobby after the show with buckets. I'd have thought they'd be selling photographs with the cast for $20 like they do at Altar Boyz (especially since the two shows are "competing" against each other). Their windowcards are sold already signed (you have a choice between black sharpie or each actress signing in their own color) so they couldn't offer that. But they could be doing the photos or selling signs cast recordings to help boost their numbers. I was told they do have a booklet coming out but it hasn't arrived yet. The stage manager said it was available on the BC/EFA website but I couldn't find it.
If anyone wants to help out the Marvelous Wonderettes let me know.

the Rent tour is doing a lot here in Chicago- signed windowcards for $100 and Playbills for $20 (entire cast), and last week, they auctioned off a walk on role (i saw her go on tonight), and tonight...Anthony auctioned off his scarf. the actual scarf he wore the entire show, and he says that it was on Broadway too...for $1,200.

For Wicked, they were also selling a tour backstage and, as Kevin Kern out it, a tour of Alli's dressing room where you could "touch her clothes and stuff" for $500.

idk when it started but Hair was collecting today. will swenson came on the mic after the show and explained it. they gave out little red ribbons to anyone who donated. that would be a good show to action off a walk-on role for.

If anyone would be able to pick me up a signed Rent tour windowcard, just send me a message so we can work out the details. I'll pay for the poster and the shipping and your time. I really want one and I'm not going to be by the tour during BCEFA time....
