Sorry if this should be off-topic.... anyways...
I have this thing where I have to buy CDs because I want the case and the insert. So when I got an ipod i took all my CDs and transferred everything to my ipod. So my question is, is there a reason why cast recordings don't have the album artwork available? I recently got a free download of a song from the Little Mermaid and they gave me the album artwork. But I then bought the CD but the album artwork wasn't available. Pretty much all my CDs that are non broadway related have album artwork that downloaded onto itunes but a majority of my cast albums didn't give me one (and I know they have them since itunes sells the CDs). Anyone know the deal with this?
Secondly, on another related/unrelated topic, is anyone else who bought the CD and put it on their ipod having a problem where the FINALE isn't being transferred completely onto their itunes? For some reason it cuts off the last 3 or 4 seconds so the music just ends abruptly. Kind of annoying. I kept doing it over and over but it always cuts the song. What's up with that???
Thanks... and if this is in the wrong section, please move. Thanks again!

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!

this is easy to fix guys. A little time consuming, but easy.
I only know how to do it on a PC, if you've got an Apple then you're on your own.
So, lets say the recording you don't have artwork for is Bat Boy (just a hypothetical example). Do a google Image search and find the album artwork you want (whether its the actual album artwork or some other image is up to you. Then click the image, then click the See Full Size image. Then Right click, and pick Copy Image to Clipboard. then go back to your iTunes. Highlight all the songs from that album Right click one of the highlighted songs (it wont matter which one it is as once they're highlighted its like you're right clciking all of them) and click Get Info. In the box that says Artwork, right click again and pick Paste. that should paste the image you picked and set set it as the albums image. if you're using an apple, then i don't know what to do.

I was having a similar problem in that when importing a CD to iTunes, my computer would sometimes cut the first 5-10 seconds off the first track. When I would try it a second time, it was fine. I'm afraid that I don't know how to solve it - I just changed from using a PC to a Mac and the problem went away.

Posted: 3/5/08 at 7:53amThere are also some nice programs like media monkey, in which you can import the songs, right click and say "tag from amazon", it will then searcch for those songs in the context of an album, and then match the songs to the tracks. You can then download their song titles as well as the album artwork and embed them in the file. (can also rename the files the way you want too, quickly and easily)

Posted: 3/5/08 at 8:05amI have a much easier suggestion. If you have an account at the iTunes store, go to Advanced->Get Album Artwork and it will download most of your artwork free and automatically. Like Liverpool said, you can manually update any artwork that does not automatically import. The easiest way to identify this is to go to Album View (View->Album view) and then update entire albums that don't have the artwork. Hope this is helpful.

The copy & paste scenario for manually adding album/CD cover art works the same exact way on a Mac. Select the track, click the options button on your computer, select Get Info and there you can manually modify track info and add artwork you want on each track.
I personally use Amazon.com to get the album/CD artwork I need.

I use castalbums.org for album art. You have to catch the image before it goes Javascript and doesnt let you copy and paste the image art. So when you click on the artwork as soon as it comes up, right click and click on copy image. Then paste it into iTunes.
With over 1100 cast albums, I've spend a LOT of time getting them together.
