Aging out of Billy Elliot
 Dec 12 2012, 05:15:25 PM
Thank you. I thought it was some sort of counseling for them or something since they're essentially going from attention, busy schedules for performances, etc. to essentially nothing and potentially obscurity.
Aging out of Billy Elliot
 Dec 12 2012, 04:52:24 PM
I know that the actors who play Billy Elliot are replaced when they grow too tall, look too old, have their voices crack, etc. I believe that I read or heard somewhere that there is some sort of program for the boys who age out of the role. However, I have searched the archives and web and cannot find anything. Did I mishear and/or misremember reading this? Or can anyone point me to a link with more information? Thanks for your help.

Yes per the cast at the stage door about a month ago, it is switching to non-equity. I believe in another thread, someone posted a link to a Rick Lyon posting on an Avenue Q message board confirming this. Sorry I don't have the link handy, but you might be able to search for it.

If this is the NETWORKS production, definitely skip this. The acting is awful and the singing is not noteworthy either. The only cool parts were the projections of the tornado and you could watch a movie to see something like that, and the part when they lift the spell in the (forget which type of red flower) field.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting reading. Are you buying much of what they're selling?

In particular, I don't know if I believe "Trust me, there’s absolutely no comparison between a touring production and the original Broadway production." I have seen very clean, polished tours and some very sloppy Broadway performances. Perhaps I agree with the star statement and I do agree in most cases but not all about the scaled back sets. I don't know if I can agree with the overall se

I read that Baldwin Wallace is doing the show this spring, but I don't have a credible link handy. This doesn't answer the original question, but hopefully still adds something helpful to the discussion.

This is coming to the Fayetteville AR where I live next week -- was curious to see that Cassie O (ala Legally Blonde, the first one kicked off) is Dorothy. I can post my impressions if anyone is curious.

From what I understand, Brigadoon had investors, but no theatre.

re: When are Tony ballots due?

I don't have an actual ballot to get in, I just wondered...
This was motivated by the Cubby campaign. I just wondered if the finale would be before or after the actual votes were due. Anyone have the answer?

When are Tony ballots due?

I did a search but could not turn up anything. When are Tony ballots due? Also, are they paper or electronic?

NY trip - lottos vs. tickets ahead of time
 May 13 2008, 02:29:16 PM
Hi guys, I am headed to NY for a little over a week (from May 16-25) and fully intend to see as many shows as possible. I've searched for up to date lotto/student rush info on BWW boards, but for many of the shows I couldn't find the info I was looking for.

My question is, for the following shows, would you advise getting tickets ahead of time, taking a chance with a weekday lotto/rush, or even chancing it for weekend lotto/rush tickets? I'm not asking for precise probabilities, b

re: Broadway Cast Recordings and ipods question

I have a much easier suggestion. If you have an account at the iTunes store, go to Advanced->Get Album Artwork and it will download most of your artwork free and automatically. Like Liverpool said, you can manually update any artwork that does not automatically import. The easiest way to identify this is to go to Album View (View->Album view) and then update entire albums that don't have the artwork. Hope this is helpful.
re: The 2-disc DREAMGIRLS DVD

Awhile back, they said that there would be a huge DVD with lots of special features, etc released around Christmas time. I just searched amazon and the archives of this board, and could not find any updated info. Any idea if this will still be released? And if so, exactly when?
