If you go to www.broadwaycares.org, the main page says that there will be a preview of the auction items and celebrities at the table on Sept. 5th.

Is anyone going this year? Since it's on a Sunday will there still be 3:00 PM performaces for shows?
No. All shows are cancelled on Flea Market Day, as it's been since the dawn of time.
It's always on a Sunday, Smashing. They usually have the celebs who are in shows at the tables earlier in the morning and around 2ish, they end up rotating in folks who aren't currently in shows (and usually a lot of soap actors) to the celeb tables.

Oh I see. The last time I went to the Flea Market was about two years ago and I couldn't remember if they did shows or not. Thanks for the info. When I went, there was a huge line for the celb table and it was freezing that day. Hopefully I'll be able to make it this year.

And it's on Rosh Hashana this year, too....
		     			Rosh Hashanah is cancelled too.

It's all about the Flea Market.

So we're gonna get stuck with this year over again? Noooo!
Awww, Yankee. It will all be worth it to stand in line for 3 hours to pay to have your picture taken with Sutton, won't it?

Haha....I could just wait by the stage door.

I am praying that cast members from "Lestat" will be there so that I can tell them how wonderful the show was and how they need to release the CD. I am sure they would like to say hello.

I also want to see "the girl with the golden hair".

I've done the celeb table since the first flea market. There actually was no "Table". Just Al Lewis (grandpa Munster) walking around. Then they came up with the idea of the table. it used to be $2 a pic if you used your own camera and $5 with theirs. And the table was not as expensive as last years. However after last year, I will never do it again. It worked that they shut the line at a certain point each hour. But the two guys with the mikes kept interrupting you as you approached a celebrity. It happened to me when I got to Jerry Mitchell. After an hour on line, you would finally hit the table and get to the celebrity you wanted to and these guys would stick the microphone in front of the celebrity's face and they would make you move on without even getting to say a hello. And they were targeting certain people on the line to interrupt. It was obvious. I'm sure people will say I'm wrong but it was just the way I felt. I don't object to the raised prices. It's for a good cause. I objected to the rudeness. When Alix Korey had the mike, she knew when to talk to the stars and when not to interrupt. But last year she was doing "All Shook Up" so she was sitting at the table and not behind it.

One of those "guys with a mic" was Scott Nevins. He's a former student of mine and he personifies evil. Yenta is a former student of mine also. She, too, personifies evil. What do these kids learn in my classroom?

I never really had an interest for the celebrity table. Chances are I probably met them at their respected stagedoors. I'd much rather browse around the tables to see what I can buy.
The ability to "browse" went out the window a few years ago. Good luck getting through the crowds to get near a table/booth.
Looking forward to it as have not been to Broadway since my operation in July

Now just need something worth seeing

Yeah, it's not so much "browsing" as "elbowing and frantically grabbing". But really, that's what makes it fun (or fun to bitch about).

And doesn't EVERYONE love winning multiple pairs of tickets to Perfect Crime at the raffel booth?

I love seeing people buy $100 worth of raffels, get 5 numbers and have 3 sets be to the exact same show of PC.

Of course, that almost happened to me. I wisely traded a set to a tourist who didn't know what Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was.

I never win anything at the raffle! EVER! Though, I suppose walking away empty handed is better than getting stuck with A Perfect Crime (and let's face it, after years and beauucoup bucks, we all know that's what I'd win)! Blech! How depressing would that be? Oooh, a number! I WON! FINALLY! WOOOHOOO!!!...A Perfect Crime?!?

Have we all forgotten that last year we all received those precious demo discs for IN MY LIFE? That made the whole day worthwhile!
