LI Larry, that would suck so bad to be edited out!
how much do walk-on roles usually cost for Broadway shows?

They usually go anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000. I've never stayed long enough. But I know it's quite high. But I've heard it's worth it. I remember Les Miz always was the last auction and it always went for a ton. Sometimes (but not with the walk ons), if 2 people are having a bidding war or if one wins, they will offer a second package at the winning price. Sometimes, they have the celebrity involved with the package (opening night tix, the walk ons or props from the show) introduce the package and they will add something to it. That's what happened with the Wayne Brady dinner I won. There were 2 "Chicago" lots with him up. One was dinner with him and that was it. The other was a dinner without him and a meet and greet after the show. Wayne said he would go to both dinners which upped the value of the package. Meet and greets are definitely not worth it. You can get the same thing at the stage door.

Yeah, I think if I go, the walk-ons and such may be a little out of my range... :)
But I think I could settle with some props and knick-knacks...hopefully those won't be too expensive. Are those types of things in like the $30 range or lower? I guess it depends, though...

Earlier you get there, the more things you can find. At the end of the day the tables only have the junk no one else wanted during the day.

Last year I bought 2 photos of Rosie O'Donnell and Tom Cruise. Rosie had signed it, and when TC came to promote his movie this year he signed one and I gave him the other. He really appreciated it.

Not really...I was there last year with a friend. I got some good stuff at the tables during the first hour, of course. But we returned to the tables a couple of times in the course of the day and found things that hadn't been there in the morning.

At the Phantom table, I got the Phantom's quill pen which had just been put out in the middle of the afternoon. And we both got gorgeous Martin Guerre programs that had been added to a box we'd already been through at another table.

I'm hoping that the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST cast makes all that chili they had last year. There were several different varieties and they were all delicious.

Hopefully the NAKED BOYS SINGING booth will feature those naughty cookies again!

I'm hoping for lots of DRS stuff. A couple years ago I bought those packaged 'costumes' from Broadway bares as stocking stuffers for all the guys in the family. It was a hoot!

I've been going for this last couple of years(my first one was 2004) and I enjoy walking around looking at what the different shows have up for sale and of course I enjoy waiting on line at the celebrity table for an autograph from several different actors(I actually said to my sister, that the celebrity table is the broadway equivalent to the meet and greets at Disney World).

Do you think it's a safe bet that all four Jersey Boys will be at the table this year?

Last year my mom bought autographed cans of Hairspray from Hairspray, and I got a DRS poster signed by Norbert and John along with a Producers playbill signed by Nathan and Matthew and the Broadway yearbook.

I'm hoping for some cool Jersey Boys stuff along with cool Producers, SpamAlot, and Sweeney stuff.

Last year (my first flea market) I got Chris Seiber's script for Spamalot (a real bargain!), as well as other cool Spamalot stuff, and some great dvds and pictures---my favorite was getting my picture taken with some of the stars that were there (yes, I can do it for free at some stage doors, but this is for such a great cause!!!)

I was so excited, I forgot to eat!

Last year, they had Charity's Brass Band top hat signed by Ms. Applegate. It was about $100.

This will be the first year I will be attending the Broadway Flea Market, and I am excited. I will be there early, looking fot quite a few items. Like a few others have mentioned, I will also be trying to get a can of Ultra Clutch from Hairspray. I will be looking to pick up a show jacket (Hopefully from DRS, The Wedding Singer or Wicked if they have one). I am also looking forward to the celebrity table.

I'm bringing a 1 year old that loves the theatre with me, and he's all excited about the celebrity table. How much does it cost for an autograph and picture?? I don't want him to be disappointed the day of the event.

Last year it was $10 for a poloroid photo and the celebrity will autograph cardboard frame they put it in. It usually costs $20 each time you go through the line but each year they seem to change the pricing policy so who knows. They usually ask who you want to take a picture with and whomever gets the most requests,is the one they bring up.

Question for Gingersnap: what time in the afternoon did you go back? (Anyone who has been back at later hours and found cool stuff, please pipe in.) I'm probably going to be running a race downtown that morning, but come hell or high water I'm heading uptown and hitting the flea market in the afternoon. Are there usually decent props and products (at decent--i.e., poor student--prices) around at later hours, or is it pretty rare to find something cool later in the day? Thanks for any help.
