"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."

I saw Assassins July 3, and I dreaded going to the Times Square (area) because of thoughts of impending terrorist attacks on the holiday week end. Maybe that was on people's minds?
Mr. Average regular theatre goer loging in here: The week before July 4 kind of draws me away from NY too, and as for most tourists, I would think they're more inclined to seek ocean front resorts, as I did. The fact that grosses are up from last year should be taken as a positive, especialy given the current strike threat. By the way, I got to see a terrific summer stock production of State Fare at The Surflight Theatre on Long Beach Island, NJ.
