No Pop On Broadway- Grosses for the Week
Those numbers hurt.

Could the possibility of an impending strike speculated for last week have made people shy away from getting tickets?
May-be- but, what about day of sales?
I saw Assassins July 3, and I dreaded going to the Times Square (area) because of thoughts of impending terrorist attacks on the holiday week end. Maybe that was on people's minds?

Mr. Average regular theatre goer loging in here:
The week before July 4 kind of draws me away from NY too, and as for most tourists, I would think they're more inclined to seek ocean front resorts, as I did. The fact that grosses are up from last year should be taken as a positive, especialy given the current strike threat.
By the way, I got to see a terrific summer stock production of State Fare at The Surflight Theatre on Long Beach Island, NJ.
It's very sad, but hopefully it'll get better! It seems that August and September are the months to go see shows!!
Good luck Broadway!
