Awesome week for many shows.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Gotta be Columbus Day.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I'll go with Comic Con over Columbus day. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but is Columbus Day THAT big of a day in the city?

The point is that people can take advantage of the three day weekend and make a mini vacation out of it, not necessarily that they are Columbus Day devotees.

It's a 3 day weekend for a lot of people. So, it is plausible.

Ugh, ROMEO & JULIET. What a trainwreck.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

If it was indeed Comic-Con, and of course the likely truth is it's all of the above, but if it was mostly comic-con you'd really hope you'd get back above $1M if you're a SPIDER-MAN producer. But you'd be disappointed, yet again.

Does anyone know what the weekly running costs are for Big Fish?

Also, Newsies has recouped right?

A lot of Zachary Levi's fans--and some celebrity friends--went to Comic-con and fit in First Date the same weekend. He's big with that crowd.

Are you sure Knowitall? That sounds a bit low. Does that number include Norbert Leo Butz's salary? I hear it's substantial.

Comic Con would not really bump Spider-Man, since the comic fans universally recognize it as the totally cynical, disrespectful dump-on-the-character that it is.

Despite its name, not every person who goes to Comic Con is a hardcore comics fan. Hardcore comics people complain these cons have been taken over by fans of general pop culture. That's particularly true of San Diego and has been more true of NY as it has grown. A con that was only attended by people who read comics wouldn't be nearly as large.

Speaking as someone who went to Comic Con (for a single day), I cannot imagine wanting to see a show at night after spending the entire day standing in various lines/running around.

It'll be interesting how Mamma Mia! does this week as its the final week it plays at the Winter Garden.

Let me say GENRE fans, then. Actual, geeky Spider-Man fans. They hate the show, as well they should.

"Speaking as someone who went to Comic Con (for a single day), I cannot imagine wanting to see a show at night after spending the entire day standing in various lines/running around."

I went for a single day and then ventured to Brooklyn to see the Thrilling Adventure Hour show. Tickets are purchased well in advance of knowing what your feet will feel like.

Plus, you do get to sit at most shows.
