Posted: 10/15/13 at 2:47pmI'll go with Comic Con over Columbus day. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but is Columbus Day THAT big of a day in the city?

Posted: 10/15/13 at 2:48pmThe point is that people can take advantage of the three day weekend and make a mini vacation out of it, not necessarily that they are Columbus Day devotees.

Posted: 10/15/13 at 2:49pmIt's a 3 day weekend for a lot of people. So, it is plausible.

Ugh, ROMEO & JULIET. What a trainwreck.

Posted: 10/15/13 at 4:18pmIf it was indeed Comic-Con, and of course the likely truth is it's all of the above, but if it was mostly comic-con you'd really hope you'd get back above $1M if you're a SPIDER-MAN producer. But you'd be disappointed, yet again.

Does anyone know what the weekly running costs are for Big Fish?
Also, Newsies has recouped right?

Posted: 10/15/13 at 4:55pmA lot of Zachary Levi's fans--and some celebrity friends--went to Comic-con and fit in First Date the same weekend. He's big with that crowd.

Posted: 10/15/13 at 8:48pmAre you sure Knowitall? That sounds a bit low. Does that number include Norbert Leo Butz's salary? I hear it's substantial.

Comic Con would not really bump Spider-Man, since the comic fans universally recognize it as the totally cynical, disrespectful dump-on-the-character that it is.

Posted: 10/16/13 at 9:15amDespite its name, not every person who goes to Comic Con is a hardcore comics fan. Hardcore comics people complain these cons have been taken over by fans of general pop culture. That's particularly true of San Diego and has been more true of NY as it has grown. A con that was only attended by people who read comics wouldn't be nearly as large.

I went for a single day and then ventured to Brooklyn to see the Thrilling Adventure Hour show. Tickets are purchased well in advance of knowing what your feet will feel like.
Plus, you do get to sit at most shows.
