According to the people of the Broadwayworld message board, every popular Off-Broadway production is looking to transfer to the Circle in the Square."
Thanks for the laugh, JBroadway!
An Oklahoma! transfer would be incredible - it's my favorite thing I've seen on stage in 2018. And Best Revival would be theres, no questions asked. They could probably get a really solid run out of that. Wow. Way to get me going on something that won't ever happen.

He (or any producer) can do it as long as there is money in the bank to pay the bills and the theater lets them stay. Co-producers and investors have no power to close a show (or do anything else for that matter.) Most ethical producers defer their royalty and office fee when the going gets tough.

This made me smile. To be fair to ONE of those rumors, though, there was a survey recently as to whether respondents would be interested in a Carmen Jones revival on Broadway and a question about whether it being in the round made it more appealing. So it seems someone is at least considering the possibility on that one, even if they’re not pursuing it very actively. I’d love to see that production again, if they added more chorus and orchestra members.
I loved the St. Ann’s Oklahoma, but I don’t believe that can be transferred and retain what felt most special about it.

I feel that judging a show by "attendance" is misguided. All that matters is how much the show made! For example, The New One is represented as "attendance down by 22-something percent." But it went up about $100,000 in gross! So who cares if fewer seats were sold when those seats happened to cost more and resulted in a box office uptick? The key to look for is "potential of gross" more than "attendance."
Word is OKLAHOMA may transfer but is considering proscenium houses, which surprised me.

Not. Everything. Must. Transfer.
