Not for The Woman in White - 7 performances (not
and tons of comped tix for press and opening night, and the gross was $608,396 down from $778,772 the previous week
But attendance went from 96% to 100.6% (which means SRO)
So to those who keep talking about the "financial mess" WIW is in, I say the reports of the Woman's demise have been GREATLY exaggerated

Alright! DRS is finally in the Top Five Grossing Musicals. Ouch for the rest...
Very odd about Woman In White. The percentage figure usually refers to paid seating. But between the critics preview and opening night, the production probably had to give out several hundred comps. Can't figure out how 100% paid attendance would have been possible...
ouch a pretty bad week all around.
Yay Woman in White...100.6%!!!
Wow I'm surprised with The Color Purple... with Oprah and all I thought it would be up in at least the 90s! We'll have to see come opening night!

Jersey Boys had one of-- if not their best week to date last week...but other than that not such a hot week. The holidays always bring better grosses...and I hope the same can be said about this year.
ETA: It has been Jersey Boy's best week!
Yay Woman in White! It's a hit. (From my perspective.)
As for Oprah getting people into see Color Purple, do you need to be reminded of the Box Office bomb called BELOVED? Just because Oprah says "go" doesn't mean people will...unless of course she is paying for the tickets.
Oh, and has IN MY LIFE posted closing notice YET? Jeeesh, enough already.

Wow, almost everything is down this week. Did anyone else notice that RENT is up a little bit but the percentage in the last column is negative? Is that a mistake or am I just reading it wrong?
and In My Life continues to play to only 33% capacity........
who knew lemons had that much juice
The horrible Odd Couple, led by the incredibly talentless Matthew Broderick, is sold out and the fabulous Souvenir is doing badly. Once again Broadway audiences prove that they have no taste
After a good week last week I suppose we had to expect a bit of a fall...
Is In my Life on an Open Run? If so, I can't imagine it making it to 2006 only playing to 33% capacity audiences.
