Per r*ddit bway gross reports it is $900k,
"

Oh, that's great for them!
"

The man running those numbers is consistently under and off.
"

Then please share with all of us what the numbers should be for each show.

He's a college student Ken Davenport hired one time to write a column and now he spouts off "insider info" on Reddit which is consistently proven incorrect...

There’s no way one person could have access to the running costs of every single Broadway production- they’re all effectively separate, siloed businesses. But considering Chess’s scale, 900k seems like a perfectly reasonable estimate. And regardless of what their weekly costs actually are, they’ve clearly been pulling in much more than enough to be profitable week after week.

Investors have everyone's paper work which include running cost estimates. This show is closer to 1.1 or 1.2 a week (given royalties and star salaries and bonuses) - which means it has to clear 1.3 -1.4 to break even.  Still making a ton of money.

They also claim they’re a contributor to this very site. I have no idea if that true, but literally anyone can be a contributor to broadwayworld.

I don't have any strong feelings about the guy but it's a little odd to claim you don't know if it's true when their posts include links in same place they "claim" to be a contributor.

"I'm a contributor for Broadway World now! My most recent article can be found here- looking at the rising costs of musicals (a popular subject at the moment). A full archive of my work can be found here!"

If the reason you don't know is that you can't be bothered to click on a link to see one way or another, that's on you.

To be fair, most producers don't want their running cost information shared far and wide like that. It's become more transparent in these recent years as producers and investors have become more plentiful. Additionally entities like those Broadway investing groups have opportunities and paperwork usually open access. That may be where a lot of this new information is funneling from. That's also to say, these running costs are subject to change dependent on a number of things... such as marketing costs, number of shows, overtime, and so much more...
