@musikman yes Journey's End was a memorable show and memorable example of producing "because." Another one (less memorable to me as a show) that comes to mind is Anna in the Tropics, which won the Pulitzer and was then brought to Broadway spearheaded by Princeton benefactor Roger Berlind and, again, Daryl Roth.
