I'm sure not big enough, but that is a nice bump for Honeymoon in Vegas (typing the whole title out isn't that hard, people).

Spring has sprung! Everybody's up! (Except Beautiful but after a big week for Mueller's final performances that's understandable).

Look at If/Then closing really strong - those numbers will repeat in this final week.

Every show that started performances this week (Finding Neverland, Hand to God, The King and I, Skylight, and An American in Paris) were almost entirely sold out. That's good news to the new shows.

So nice to see everything up this week! I'm surprised how well "An American in Paris" is doing in previews. Perhaps there's more of an audience for it than I thought. It doesn't interest me in the least, but good for them.

Hope On the Town gets that revival nomination. Not that it would guarantee success, but they need anything they can get.

"Look at If/Then closing really strong - those numbers will repeat in this final week."

Except the average ticket price is dismal. I'm curious, if the IF/THEN producers could expect good sales in the last couple of weeks, why they allowed those discount codes right up until the last weekend (I think it doesn't include Friday). The last show has been sold out at full price for at least a month now. Ah well, I still wonder how it will do on tour.

Yes good point Pootie. I jumped at my "everybody's up" post after seeing the attendance percentages but before I took a closer look at the dollar amounts. Still good for everyone to have butts in the seats though.

It does seem strange about the discounts. I believe they could have brought in more money, perhaps fewer attendees, without discounts because people were motivated by it being their last chance to see it. While it does seem like the audiences are a lot of repeat customers lately, I was surrounded by last chance out-of-towners at the stage door on Thursday.

Phillypinto, thank you for attending and being part of the $100k Honeymoon in Vegas bump!
Btw, where's your review-thoughts on the show?

Friends who work at that theatre have said to expect similar numbers throughout previews. I'll be interested to see how they do after reviews come out.

Philly, oh my god, if you love it so much why don't you support it more? You're the problem!!!!!!

Audra: They will get a revival nomination, that much is sure. But it probably won't help. Updated On: 3/16/15 at 04:40 PM

I hope "Beautiful's" dip isn't a sign of post-Jessie-itis. I guess we'll find out soon enough whether the mobs were flocking to it to catch Jessie's star-making performance.

Chicago had an impressive $100,000 plus bump in the grosses. Is it the Jennifer Nettles effect? Maybe the grosses will remain impressive once Paige Davis comes aboard? Sadly, I will not get a chance to her as Roxie.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

This is really NEWS!!!!

Honeymoon is not the lowest-grossing show on Broadway this week - it's the THIRD lowest-grossing show (of all shows that played a full week)!

It could be noted, though, that The King & I grossed more, and with only 1/2 the number of performances, but why burst Tony's bubble? I'm sure he's tapping even faster now!

KING & I also out-grossed HONEYMOON in a smaller theatre, in addition to half the performances.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
