While I'm sure she's a big draw, I would think the title alone is a draw. "
I went specifically to see Whishaw. I wonder if others are doing the same. But yes, the title alone is probably a big hook.
Whishaw was the main draw for my friend and I as well. But he's not exactly a house-hold name.

as already mentioned by someone else in this thread, can be mostly credited to spring break. mostly colleges but many public schools, too. hence the jump in family-friendly musicals and more contemporary, younger-skewing musicals.

Public schools in NYC are not off until late April. But lots of school groups come in starting this time of year so that helps too.

Late April? That's so late... I'm off starting this Thursday and Friday and then next week as well.

^^Usually Easter/Passover dates are somewhat close together so the NYC school break is around those times. But this year, Easter and Passover are a month apart. Public schools in NYC are then off just for Good Friday in March and then a whole week in April around Passover for Spring Recess. I think they prefer to have their week off in April since they had a Presidents Week off in February.
For theater going, it's not a bad thing you have school group visiting and vacations spread through March and part of April.

when did i ever suggest that it was NYC public schools? i said "public schools.." not "NYC public schools." many public and private schools in Connecticut are currently on break and the majority of Westchester county public schools are on break, too. sheesh

I was only giving the information about NYC public schools (which I happen to know) as PART of the picture. I wasn't arguing your point..just adding some info to the comments. Talk about "sheesh"...

Lupita doesn't appear to be the draw they'd hoped for Eclipsed given that The Humans is pulling similar numbers.
