Posted: 3/26/07 at 5:59pmBig bump up for Les Miz! Lea related?? It amazes me that she had to audition for the role considering her involvement with Miss Saigon and Les Miz in the past.
re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/25/2007#5
Posted: 3/26/07 at 6:11pmJust because she was in Les Miz doesn't mean she's automatically right for another role in the same show. Nor does her involvment with another show by the same writers. That's an awfully big assumption.

I'm sure she got some preferential treatment, even if she did have to audition..."who wants to be in the show?...Lea Salonga?...SEND HER IN RIGHT AWAY!"
I think Pirate Queen had a good week, considering the size of their theatre! 80% is a lot of peeps!

Posted: 3/26/07 at 7:38pmi agree with you luponatic. besides talent, salonga is a atar with a strong box office draw. im pretty sure les miz producer is very much aware of that.

Posted: 3/26/07 at 7:43pmI disagree Luv - the creative staff knows her work in two shows that they were also involved in, knows she can sing, knows she can act and knows she can play tragic - why the need for an audition?

Gawd, I hate to see what GG's numbers will look like next week, when Christine's going to be out the whole time.
C'mon, GG, pull those numbers up.

Posted: 3/27/07 at 12:35pmhow much longer can Company last?? It's such a great show, why aren't people seeing it??
re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/25/2007#18
Posted: 3/27/07 at 12:49pmI think it'll chug through Tony season and hope it can garner enough awards to drum up an audience. The weekly nut is probably relatively small, given the minimalist set and lack of paid orchestra. (I'll say this for Doyle's direction-it saves money!)

Posted: 3/27/07 at 1:42pmHow much longer can Journey's End last. It has the lowest attendance.
re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/25/2007#20
Posted: 3/27/07 at 5:33pmI have a feeling Journey's End will get its two weeks notice and close in about two weeks. It's been touch and go for a while.
