Yeah for some reason those posts that are like this:
Ouch.
Ouch for Xanadu.
etc.
Those posts made me want to gouge my eyes out with hot pokers? Why? just a pet peeve of mine too.
But yeah, 65% is pretty low for Spring Awakening.
Oh and by the way, I'm taking a group of juniors to see PHANTOM on Wednesday, and when I bought the tix at the Majestic Theater last Friday, I had to use 2 credit cards and a debit card to buy the tickets since I didnt have enough in any one account to pay for them. The box office woman said that they tickets were nonrefundable even if somebody buys my remaining tickets in between the 3 transactions. Well, after the purchase I got all the way down to the Shubert before I realized that she had given me tickets for NEXT wed, not this wed. And she made a federal case about them being NONREFUNDABLE, NO EXCHANGES. Well, guess what? I went back to the Majestic, told her she made a mistake, and she gave me a refund!! And she gave me the same seats for the correct date that I asked for : )
Well, despite ACL at only 59% capacity, it's average ticket was the highest this year(almost $70) and it's grosses jumped $51,000. As much as I'm hating their stunt casting of Lopez, it's nice to see their grosses go up regardless.
Oh, gosh! Xanadu is not doing well
IN THE HEIGHTS still has somewhat decent capacity and BO numbers. Especially for a new show with no names in a week that was bad to usually sell-out hits like SPRING AWAKENING and CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.
