Now WTF is up with AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY?? Is a Pulitzer and rave reviews practically across the board not enough for a people to see a straight play without movie stars in it?
Gypsy just keeps going up! Love it!
awful week, i predict all shows will close and the theatres will become Roller Discos and Peep Shows lol

If South Pacific were sold out (due to reports of cancellation lines), wouldn't its grosses be at 100.0% ?
boy, the two plays that DO have movie stars in them decreased in profit the most
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof lost Terrence Howard for the next few weeks, so I think that accounts for the drop on that one, even though the gross is still respectable.
What is the other play with a movie star that decreased last week?
I had no idea that Terrence Howard was such a big draw for CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. What's sad is that it's Anika Noni Rose the one giving THE performance on that stage.
The revivals are really doing incredibly well. It's amazing: GYPSY, SOUTH PACIFIC, and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE once again rule the boards. I am THRILLED to see SUNDAY doing such amazing business even in a week that was somewhat bad for the rest of the shows. I must admit I never thought GYPSY would do so well and it's a nice surprise that it is.
The Country Girl dropped 10%? Morgan Freeman, Peter Gallagher, some woman i don't know
Country Girl may have dropped in its attendance percentage, but increased its gross by $18,000, so that doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
Good for GYPSY!
for PS
I have nothing to say about ACL.
AUGUST will do better with the move. I think I'm going to see it again, to check out their new home.
Nice to see BOEING-BOEING off to a good start!
I think the thing with August is that it extended an additional week or two when it announced the move to the Music Box, so maybe people are putting off seeing it until after the move. Plus most shows went down last week anyway. I'm really surprised by the dip for The Country Girl. I thought Freeman and McDormand would have been big draws (not Julia Roberts big, but big enough). And great numbers for Gypsy.
Spring Awakening at 65%! Damn.
Why is no one seeing Passing Strange??
I want to formally congratulate all of the posters for not using the word "ouch" to describe the poor showing of some of the shows. Why is that such a pet peeve for me?
And a big FU to the naysayers who said it was too soon for a Gypsy revival! $800,000 plus for the week. Stuffed animals or not, the show is friggin' on fire!

I'm tempted to say "ouch" right now because Spring Awakening and In The Heights are killin me right now with their percentages.
Don't say ouch, please! Say something else, please!

owwies?
The Broadway musicals Spring Awakening and In the Heights have pulled in unsually low numbers this week, such to a point where it causes pain.
There. That wasn't ouch.
I appreciate everyone's cooperation in the "ouch" department.
Might be time to start stunt-casting Spring Awakening. Better get Zac Efron and Miley Cirrus to replace Groff and Michelle.
