The Lieutenant of Inishmore - Ouch!
If so low, why can't I get a good discounted seat for Sat matinee?
Good news for The History Boys.
Everybody--GO SEE THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE!
WOW! So many shows dropped. Sweeney at 50%. OUCH! I was actually expecting shows to start seeing a steady increase in sales. Hopefully the summer crowds will start arriving soon.
I realize Barefoot is closing, but I'm really surprised that it's allowed to continue with such low numbers.

OUCH! 7 shows below 50%, 3 below 40%? Sweeney for the first time in it's current run didn't make it's nut.
Question... for shows which open (i.e. Inishmore and Caine Mutiny this week) there is always a dip on the opening week, is that due to the fact that opening night audiences have a good number of comps?
BTW what is Drowsy Chaperone's weekly nut?
Usually opening weeks are lower than usual because there's so many comps plus a lot of press in the auidence. It's nothing unusual for a show's gross to dip drastically during it's opening week.
Ouch. A lot of great shows in the '70s.

Wow...
Doubt under 50%? That's a bit surprising.
And how much longer can Festen last? Has it been above 50% yet?
Sweeney at 50% is surprising.

I'm visiting New York next week with my roommates and we were hoping to catch a show. At first I was worried that we wouldn't be able to see certain shows, like Drowsy or Piazza. But after seeing the attendance levels - it looks like we'll be okay.
So sad to see so many shows doing so poorly though.
I hope summer attendance picks up soon as more schools are done for the year, etc.
so much for Reidel saying Wedding Singer was doing OK
it's numbers suck
Tom Cruise has GOT to stop promoting Broadway.

haha.
Yeah Wedding Singer ain't doing that great, but then again most shows aren't doing that great. Lestat made $500,000 which seems like a lot to me.
OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Broadway. I thought maybe the numbers would start to pick up this time of year. Well, hopefully in another couple of weeks when summer starts up the numbers will rise too. But, god, I have never seen Sweeney's attendence so low!
I don't know what Lestats break even is, but $500,000 has to be pretty close.

Lestat costs about $560,000 to run a week, so, $60,000 loss isn't horrific, but obviously not good.
Wedding Singer is just about $500,000 to run, so, again, it isn't doing horrific either, but again, not good.
After the Tony noms are announced, expect: Caine Mutiny, Hot Feet, and Festen to announce closings (unless some Tony miracles happen).
And I don't see why producers thought Inishmore would make money, I don't even thing the 4-5 Tony noms Inishmore will get will help it sell tickets (its advance is pitiful).
Doubt isn't doing so hot, but it only costs around $190,000 to run a week, so, it has a little more life left in it...

You have to sell your soul to Thomas Schumacher...
Which you kind of inherrently do when you purchase a ticket to a Disney show...
even Schumacher won't reveal Disney running costs
They don't have to

Why do the other companies have to release their info?
Ssshhhh! Don't ask questions like that.
Now goons in mouse ears will be pounding on your door in about thirty minutes.
