Also, thrilled for a solid week for the Prom! Hoping they can have a nice summer before closing, I love that show so much.

Just the start of the summer bump. Their sales look pretty good for this week. Hoping they continue to climb this summer.

With Constitution making all this money (and the next to nothing running costs of this show), I am surprised they have not yet announced recoupment; it leads me to believe they're sitting on the announcement and waiting for maximum publicity. I thought that was true Pre-Tonys and they would do it in the lead up but still no. It HAS to have made back the investment by now, right? It is bringing in money hand over fist.

They are at week 15 and the gross is netting at just over $400k avg. I don't know their numbers but if we are generous, they may clear $150k. They still have a way to go.

@Hogan (or someone else)
What would you estimate is the capitalization for a show like Constitution?

Summer should really help Cher id think. Also, no disrespect to SJB or her performance, but 90% of ticket buyers likely have no clue who she is or that she won the tony for her performance. Cher is the sell here.

A bare stage with a stationary chair behind a wired microphone is an expensive show to run, if only because it is in a Broadway theater.

Ya I think people often forget that even if it is just a one person show, with a minimal set and minimal writing, that they also have to pay rent in that theatre. There are a lot of costs that we can’t even see.

Two hugely successful runs off-Broadway. By your estimation, "a sure thing." Guaranteed success. Closed at a massive loss. Didn't win any Tony's. Also, I assume, hated by you. So what's the difference? Calling things sure things AFTER they've succeeded isn't an art. If you actually had the stuff to make calls on what would be successful before they arrived, you surely missed your lucrative calling as a producer."
I actually agree with your points but I am compelled to correct one small point. Great Comet did win a Tony - Bradley King won best lighting design which in my opinion is the most deserved Tony in history!

Also didn't Great Comet win for scenic design, which again is an obvious win for that show. Still proves that obviously a great show, great reviews, and even some rewards won't make a show successful on it's own.
