Maybe it was the really bad weather? People weren't out buying tickets from the box-office or TKTS or whatever?
At least last Thurs- at the perf. of TCP I saw- they made a fortune out of selling T-shirts to drenched audience members.

Ouch for DRS. I honestly don't think the show will sell after Norbert, Jonathan and Greg leave.

Wow, only one show increased and Wicked stayed the same. Well, this will all pick up, summer's here.

Grosses may be down due to the pairs of comps given to Tony voters. That might account for SOME if the dip.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

This makes me fear for The Wedding Singer. Now that I've heard the cast recording, I'd rather see that when I'm in New York over one of the other shows I was planning. I just hope it's still open by the time I go!

Ahh! Hopefully the cast recording will boost sales for Wedding Singer. I MUST see it before it closes!

Just a bad week for Broadway in general

.

Sweeney's a lot like ASU - has a lot of fans, but not much attendance.
