This is the beginning of the summer slump. Great that ALNM went up a little.

Looks like Kristin's absence in Promises, had a little impact this weekend. It fell under the 1 million, but still did great business.

Its too bad that South Pacific couldn't have ended its run on an upward swing.

Nice to see SOUTH PACIFIC go out with a sold-out week. That's the way to end a run: with a bang, not a whimper!

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

For a not-for-profit house, that show was still a huge blessing. A success all around.

Next to Normal had a decent week. Almost to 300,000 and 80%.
For those who thought NEXT TO NORMAL wouldn't have a life outside Broadway, well it's now playing in 4 cities, 9 different countries and has been translated into 6 languages.

it's sad that these numbers are going to get worse over the next few weeks. I'm suprised La cage isn't doing better.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

looks like Jordin Sparks gave ITH a small boost.

"it's sad that these numbers are going to get worse over the next few weeks"

I happened to be looking at Travelzoo's entertainment section and a significant number of shows have just announced discounts beginning Sept 7. It looks like that is indeed the case.

What happened with Promises, Promises? I mean, those numbers are hardly anything to thumb your nose at, but dropping 10% in attendance, and over $100K in gross is quite the difference.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Looks like fall's gonna be a bitch for the folks over at American Idiot.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

Chenoweth certainly had more of an effect on the box office than a lot of people here seemed to think.

"Looks like fall's gonna be a bitch for the folks over at American Idiot."

I think the fall is going to be a bitch for most shows. Summer over. Unemployment still near its highs, economy again slowing, tight consumer spending.

I think it's going to be an ugly ugly Sept-Oct.
