I can't stand to look at these.

What a terrible week. Thankfully DRS is back to what it usually does.

It looks like ASU is officially shot.

This is always a slow time becuase tourists are leaving and the kiddies are going back to school. It'll pick up.

Wow this was a really bad week. Everything that was falling really dropped.

I just hope Sweet Charity's sales increase.

Am I on drugs or is Woolf's gross not there?
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Yes, Woolfs numbers aren't up and yes, you are on drugs.

I can't see Lennon running much longer.

Also Chitty has never taken off and continues its path downwards.

It's wonderful seeing DRS rebound like that - particularly in a week that was so hard on nearly everybody else. (Although Glengarry looks good.)

I guess that awful drop in numbers and subsequent rebound pretty much ensures either DRS getting another 'name' to replace John OR paying John some big $$$$ when they sit down to discuss extending.

I second this.
Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."

in response to tourist season decreasing, All Shook Up has continued to yo-yo for the past two-three months now and its increases in attendance have been far fewer than its decreases.
As for Lennon, I'm not sure what can be done to fix that problem. Time I guess.

Something is happening to ASU. It WAS doing really good. I can't help thinking some producer somewhere is trying to keep ppl outta the show so he can put his show in it in the fall/spring. And Lennon....adue.

Movin' Out isn't up either! Oh, and the reason Glengarry went up was because it was closing week, its gone.

Ouch not a good week...
Except for Wicked. you must ask when Wicked will ever end.

ASU got re-capitalized...it has some life even though no one is going to see it.
They are going to try a new marketing plan, seeing as the original didn't work.
if this show closes soon, will it be considered a "flop"?

re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/28/2005

If the show dosen't make back it's original investment, and dosen't start to make profit. It's an official flop.

And ASU hasn't made back it's investment.

re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/28/2005

At the current rate, there is no way ASU, Lennon, or Sweet Charity can be anything but flops; it is impossible to forsee any of them earning back even a small part of their investment.

So I have a feeling my October 8th tickets to see Lennon won't be usuable soon... My dad will be so disappointed.

re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/28/2005

how wrong this will sound:

Lennon's (weekly) nut is very small, so the roughly $300,000 per week is close to breaking even.

re: Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 8/28/2005

wow, Broadway as a whole is just going down. Prices are a factor. People are just sort of tired of paying over 100 for tickets plus dinner and traveling.
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

Go see Lennon people! I enjoyed it so much. Its making me so upset that its the lowest out of the musicals. And its amazing. Its one of the most talented casts on Broadway- the energy is wonderful and its depressing they are playing to less than half of the house.
Please hang in their Lennon!
