It’s easy for them to fill up the theater with cheap seats. Probably anybody who went to the todaytix rush got a 49 dollar ticket.
Yes and selling the prime product at a low price (orchestra) - which the average ticket price would suggest is what’s happening - while also not being able to fill all seats can’t be a good thing. Anyway, I loved Billy and Marisha and was hoping things would land a bit better in NYC but clearly I was wrong. Very curious to see what happens next.

The TodayTix rush has only ever given out mid to rear mezzanine seats, even during the best of times. The orchestra was likely filled with people from TKTS.
To that end, it’s looking bad enough to the point where you could probably get away with buying a $49 ticket and then just getting a better seat when you get there or at intermission .
UPDATE - 9:30am: Rush tickets are still available on the TT app and I don’t think anyone is even inclined to buy them. I’ve been getting the same 10-12 mezzanine seats offered to me. The best of the group was the new mezzanine, Row B - but nothing premium or even orchestra level

It seems crazy a show that is doing this well is closing completely. There also must be a hoard of young TV and movie actresses who might like a stab at Sadie's role (its a really GOOD role). I mean Purpose is closing too and it's doing good box office, but Proctor is doing better...AND it has a youthful zeitgeist popularity despite losing the Tony."
There has been no rumors of the show transferring somewhere else. Where would it go? Sometimes it's okay to let a show be a limited run and then bow out, A show doesn't need to continue elsewhere.
