This Soul Doctor business is just madness. I'm pretty sure when this filmmaker gets to the "underground anomaly" that he thinks is Nazi treasure, he's going to find a empty treasure chest with an IOU for when this show recoups.

Well, looks like FIRST DATE is indeed in trouble. I wasn't expecting BIG FISH to be such a hit during previews, we'll see which way the reviews go and what effect they'll have on these numbers. I wonder if, after so many raved-about performances, Norbert Leo Butz proves to be a box office draw.

So Spider-Man is shaping up to be the flop it was supposed to be in the first place. With these numbers, I don't see any way that it could recoup.

Let's keep track here. We should see notices for Spider-Man, First Date, Soul Doctor, Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet... any others?

I am really shocked that Orlando Bloom isn't a bigger draw in R&J. I find it baffling. Jude Law in HAMLET was such a smash I would have that this would have been a very similar draw. I mean Orlando was one of the star of the two mega smash film trilogies.

Seeing FIRST DATE this weekend, I feel like I won't have much longer. It's nut has got to be $400k at least. You would think CINDERELLA might announce a closing to drive last minute business with families who have been putting it off. They have to have been losing money for a solid month now.

Is BIG FISH a big show to run? Haven't seen it yet. Number are solid, but if it takes $650k to run, it's gonna need to keep growing.

Rough first week and a half of previews for The Winslow Boy. Not that Rees is a huge name, but I would think there would be at least a little draw considering the low average ticket price through all the preview discounts that are out there. If that doesn't improve in the next couple weeks, I doubt it will make it to it's scheduled closing date of 12/01.

Wouldn't be shocked to see closing notices for R&J, Cinderella, First Date, Spiderman in the next month. I doubt the closing date for Annie is going to shift. They will do well enough Thanksgiving through New Years to make it worth it.

Overall, two straight not so great weeks overall even considering it is the second half of September.

I'm not sure why it would be a shock that Jude Law is a draw but Orlando Bloom isn't, you just have to look at their careers. Jude Law has been in an array of films, some successful ones too, and he has gotten nominated for an Oscar twice, and given a lot more of Oscar-worthy performances. Bloom hasn't done anything even remotely near what Law has done; he was in LORD OF THE RINGS, yes, also covered in a lot of make-up, and he hasn't done anything successful (maybe he has done something else, too lazy to look at his IMDB page right now) apart from that, nor has he proven that he is a great actor the way Law has. I don't think comparing him to Jude Law makes much sense in terms of their body of work or their star appeal; Law is a great actor who has been around for ages, Bloom is a moderately successful supporting player in a huge franchise.

Re Spiderman - I live in London and I had a email blast from one of the theatre groups here offering me discount on Spiderman tickets - I'm not sure I've ever had that happen before...

ONCE recouped in 21 weeks and 163 performances.

The Annie producers might just hold out for holidays to try and recoup. Soul Doctor has no reason to still be open.

I find it difficult to believe that such a lively and beautiful show such as "Cinderella" is doing so poorly. Spiderman seems to be approaching oblivion.

Cinderella's problem is that it's playing in The Broadway Theater. It's a barn of a theater a the second largest Broadway house. The Broadway hasn't had a hit show since Miss Saigon.
