Who won? I didn't get to go last night. Song list?
Thanks.
jaclyn won. once i remember all the songs ill post them.
Go Jaclyn! I was voting for her even though I wasn't there last night (a friend called me when the voting began). I remember last week when from the second level you could see her laying down on the concrete floor backstage.
I liked Beth Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth DeRosa (would she have won if she had worn only one shoe for "On the Steps of the Palace" last week?) but Jaclyn slayed them all!! She tied Elizabeth for being gorgeous, as well. Can't wait to see the Ars Nova show.

Well the "fabulous" ms huberman forgot her words during "I'm Breaking Down"...and I don't care how "hard" that song is....learn and remember your lyrics. SHe is completely self-involved and cannot just STAND there and listen to critique! She has to fidget and comment and joke around, and in terms of performing, she has NO BUILD. Last week her rendition of "The Miller's Son" was a blatent copy of the Emily Skinner version and she begins SO loud and belty she has nowhere to go. I am SHOCKED that Jamieson didn't win as he is the very definition of a Broadway Star and the clear audience favorite. His performance of "Flying Home" last night was absolutely incredible and flawless. What kills me is how last week the judges told him to "pick a focal point" and this week they said, "You're only looking at one spot"....COME ON! Make up your minds. I feel sorry for people who go to Jaclyn Huberman's show because while she is extremely talented, again, she has NO BUILD and will probably blow her voice by her third song...as she was hoarse by the end of her second last night. So she can go back to SAT tutoring and Jamieson will go to TOKYO to tour in RENT!

Wow. Thanks for the Jaclyn review from last night. I wasn't there. So she forgot her lines and still won? Interesting. Maybe people voted for her boobs.
What part will Jamieson be playing in Tokyo Rent?
I saw Jac go on for a performace in I Love You Because. She was fantastic. She sounded amazing on the songs she had, and was a RIOT in all of her scenes.
Glad she won.

I cast my vote for Jaclyn, #9.
She has a Judy Garland quality about her and I thought she knocked them dead from the first B'way Idol night, she's smashing.
Last night she brought tears to my eyes with the haunting "Like an Unexpected Song" (from Song and Dance, best song choice of the night of anyone) and she also sang "I'm Breaking Down" from Falsettos for her second number and it was such an appropriate song to go up on your lines in. She did a great original interpretation on that song. Lilias White (one of the judges, who got nonstop applause at the mention of her name--more than anyone) made it clear that she didn't care if she briefly (and it was only momentaneously) forgot her words, she recovered very fast, wasn't thrown off by it and delivered bigtime and consistently afterward and I didn't give a damn either about the little slip in the lyrics and neither did the two other of the three judges Stephen Schwartz or Cheyenne Jackson. That young woman was "in the moment" at all times. I wanna see her in a show on Broadway. Her acting was tremendous; I think that set her aside from the other two singers who were also wonderful but couldn't match her as actors.
Jamieson has great voice and terrific tempo while singing but needs to work on both physicality and acting. He's only 21, he has time!
I get really tired with Katie (the redhead) pushing her sex, though her presence and singing is great. Her sexuality is a total bore to me so she needs to think of the large portion of the audience that wants to see something in her besides sex.

Jamieson's other song was "Bigger is Better" from When Pigs Fly.
Did anyone tape any of the performances or get candid photos? I saw loads of camera phones popping off and a pro photographer at the front for the first two performances, but barely any photos (aside from the posed ones here on BWW) have been put online.
Please post photos of Elizabeth from the first round and Jaclyn from the second round.

I don't know ... I thought the competition was anticlimactic. A few of the other top contenders were eliminated in Round Two, making Jac a clear winner in Round Three in my eyes. Not to say that Jamieson and Katie aren't AMAZING singers ... they absolutely are and are difficult to compare to one another, but Jac made me see distinct characters in each of her performances as well as wow me with her voice. Katie's "I Don't Know How to Love Him" and "Sooner or Later" and all that were sultry and smokin', but it appeared she was singing them as herself. I loved that Stephen Schwartz called Jamieson's performance full of "vocal pyrotechnics," because Jamieson has an UNBELIEVABLE range. He's just not giving me a sense of time or place or intent. That's just me.
Best of luck to everyone. I was so impressed by the talent on that stage, and these people have real guts to endure this competition.
yes, Jaclyn won and Jamison was great, and Katie was sexy and "herself" which is what I love about her...and I am sooo sad that she didn't win. but honestly, they were all so good. it really didn't look good for Jac, though that she was the only one who forgot her words,AND was flat---and won anyway. Proving the "you had more people to vote for you there" theory, not that you were the best. but they're all going to have great careers, so whatever.
i forgot to ask: what part is jamison playing in RENT?

Is he actually? I am SOOOO glad they are starting to cast that role more racially diverse, rather than ALWAYS a black man. I hate that they, for the most part, cast each role with the same ethnicity of the person who originated it.

He's not playing Collins, he is is the understudy and I don't care how good he is..I think that he is not right for that part AT ALL but that's just me.
