Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:19amcompletely agree about the opening monologue. and sure, taylor's "gee-tar" is a little...um, sparkly, but she is a remarkably sweet girl. i'm more of a fan of her songwriting than her singing though.
re: Broadway Skit on SNL#54
Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:21amYeah, maybe Taylor could write a musical titled "5 to 9."
"Leave Walt Disney Theatricals new sparkling production of The Little Mermaid on Broadway alone!!!"

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:26amWait, am i the only one who didn't get that Weekend Update joke?
re: Broadway Skit on SNL#56
Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:27amIt's funny because I saw NPH play Mark in California over 10 years ago! And it's sad that I loved that sketch oh so much that I could barely catch my breath. And the Fiddler joke, man that was gold.

It was just a stereotype of middle aged aunts. Single Aunts of America all usually love two things: cats and musicals
I found it funny, because my actual aunt does love B'way, she's who got me started at a very early age :)

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

The sketch was Lame because they used characters from shows already closed or not in danger of closing.
Where was SPAMALOT?
Neil would have killed as Clay Aiken.
Where were the SPRING AWAKENING kids who will never work on Broadway again?
Where was GREASE (lots of jokes there(
HAIRSPRAY?
They went the easy not funny way with CATS, COLOR PURPLE and CHICAGO and WICKED, just not that funny.
re: Broadway Skit on SNL#64
Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:48amOkay, this Frost/Other People sketch is really funny.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:52amThat Broadway sketch was hilarious, except I felt like they could have made fun of Chicago more. Kristen Wiig would have OWNED.

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:54amOkay, Taylor Swift has an AWFUL voice. Even Britney Spears has a better voice than she does. Godd*mn.

I feel SO bad for Taylor
You can tell she is VERY nervous

P.S. Anyone hear the Broadway joke made during Weekend Update? Seth said something along the lines of "Bla bla bla bla Broadway shows closed, a blow to aunts everywhere."
And for people protesting against the unrealisticness of the shows included, get over it. They have to appeal to a mass audience and while I'm sure we would all titter at a Boeing-Boeing joke, the vast majority of SNL's audience is familiar with Phantom, Chicago, Wicked, etc.
Other highlights nobody's mentioned:
-"Revive Miss Saigon?"
-(After Darrell Hammond hit the trashcan lids together)"Still relevant".
-"That's racist..."

Posted: 1/11/09 at 12:58amYeah, she seemed really nervous. Hey, who wouldn't though, it's SNL.
