I love "Origin of Love" but I think it would go over a lot of people's heads if it was realeased. "What is this talk about spliting people and all this honkadoo?"
It would have to be released to rock & alternative stations, not AC or Top-40. I think it'll stand nicely next to Pink Floyd, Tori Amos and Ben Folds, don't you think?
A few more from Hedwig (which I love so much, I just might pop it into the DVD player this afternoon):
- "Midnight Radio", as mentioned.
- "Wicked Little Town", Hedwig's version.
- "Tear Me Down": man, this would sound AMAZING on the radio.
I also want to hear the phenomenal "Angry Inch" on the radio, but I doubt even the rock/alternative stations would play THAT.
Yeah. It could well on the rock stations.......I agree with you on that one. It doesn't matter what the artists say, it is has a good guitar riff, it will do great. LOL
"unworthy of your love" from Assassins, perhaps changing the names though.
Oooo that would be a good one
I dont think it would be that good of a pop hit, but the other day, while listening to a NewYork radiostation, Popular began to play. And not for the radio commercial. As an actual song! It was shocking to me and I was surprised #1 the station would have the Wicked CD to play the songs from and #2 they would play an actual Broadway song on a popular New York radio station.

Most of the songs from Bombay Dreams sounds like a "pop hit" already... but that is just my opinion
Take Me To The World would be goood one. like if charolette church and josh groban did or something... Its a beautiul song!!!!!
I don't think Defying Gravity could work as a pop single. Wouldn't it be weird to hear the singer on national radios sing, "And nobody in all of Oz/No wizard that there is or was..."
