Not Broadway, but wasn't Lea just a kid when she played Kim on the west end

Richard H Blake is indeed a star! He has been working since he was just a kid and had the lead in "Saturday Night Fever" (First National Tour as well as U/S on Broadway). He had his name above the title in "The Prince of Central Park" when he was just a kid.

Lea Salonga was 17 or 18 when she played Kim in Miss Saigon in the West End.

A lot of the Spring Awakening cast members are also in their late teens.

However, isn't this thread about which Broadway stars played the child roles, not made their debut as late teenagers? Even though the kids in Spring Awakening are still in their teens, it's not like they alternate the roles like regular child Broadway actors.

Tony Yazbeck was a newsboy in a revival of Gypsy, Lacey Chabert was Young Cosette (she's not on Broadway now, but she was), and I know this isn't Broadway, but Anne Hathaway's been around since she was a child.

Yazbeck was also "Clarence" of "Clarence and his clarinet" in the Uncle Jocko sequence of the Tyne Daly "Gypsy" revival.

Lea Salonga's debut on stage was at the age of 7 in the The King and I musical in the Philippines. Still at a young age, she later took the lead of Annie and joined other productions, such as Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Fiddler On The Roof, The Rose Tattoo, The Sound of Music, The Goodbye Girl, Paper Moon and The Fantasticks.

MERLIN (in 1983) was actually Christian Slater's 4th Broadway credit/show. He actually made his Broadway debut playing Winthrop Paroo in the 1980 Broadway revival of THE MUSIC MAN. He was 10 1/2 years old.

Rick Faugno & Erich Bergen were kids on Broadway, and Jarrod Spector was a Gavroche in Les Miserables (not sure if it was Broadway or one of the Tours).

Erich Bergen was not on Broaway. His voice was recorded for the the play An American Daughter but that is it.

The amazing tap dancer Savion Glover made his Broadway debut as the kid in THE TAP DANCE KID in the 1980's. The late Gregory Hines, a fabulous performer, was Glover's mentor.

I agree with Savion Glover.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Absolutely Cliffarico - Patty Duke is the quintessential Broadway child star that made it. And then to return in "Oklahoma" (see my avatar) 40 years later was awesome. Wouldn't she be great in "Driving Miss Daisy" now?

And even though she's not a child (but still young) I wouldn't be surprised if Laura Osness becomes a BIG Broadway star after she debuts in "Grease". You may quote me on that - haha.
