Has the dispute over the stagehands been completely resolved?
I just wondered if there is any chance of any more strikes in say the next four weeks.
I hear the Ushers union is possibly going on strike. Finding your seats will be chaos.
Ha - that's ok I always find my own seat.

The stagehands thing is totally over and done with. Actors Equity is talking now way ahead of time so that they won't have to strike.

That's great news. I thought I had heard somewhere that they were meeting again in early June so I just wondered if everything had been sorted.
Thanks.
No worries to have.
And the stagehands probably did the actors a favor: they won't have as difficult of a time getting MORE of what they may be asking for. I'd be surprised if their contract negotiations get much publicity. (You don't usually hear a lot unless they are going awry.)
Great - I can rest easy.
I don't know what I would do if I got to NY and Broadway was on strike. My, there would be tears before bedtime...
I was there and my kids and I had tickets for two shows the first two days of the strike. Even on our drive down from Boston that morning we couldn't get confirmation of the strike until around 11 or 12.
We were dissappointed, but my kids took the news pretty well.
Enjoy your time!
I will be traveling 19 hours in the air to get there dramamama - lol.

I had a friend from Paris staying with me during the strike....we had 5 shows cancelled. But, we still found lots to do, and there is pretty much no chance of that happening this summer.
I had friends flying in from California during the strike and two of their shows were canceled. I just told them to go see Xanadu and they were very grateful they followed my advice.

Not to be a downer, but:

True that the stagehands' negotiations are completed for the next 3-5? years, so there will be no strike from them, but also be advised that the stagehands, too, began negotiations early, to no avail. And the stagehands will stand behind the actors if they are forced to strike in June. Odds are the producers have learned their lesson and will negotiate fairly with the actors, so you probably will be fine.
Have a great time!
I was there during the last strike, having flown in from California. I didn't see all the shows I wanted, but I saw what I could at Lincoln Center, off-Broadway and the shows not affected. Of course, if everything was closed, I guess I would have visited more museums and been at the Paley Center watching what musicals they have on DVD.
The producers were trying to overhaul their contract with the stagehands. Their negotiations with Equity is all incremental. You will absolutely be fine.
My parents came to town to see my show when the strike hit. Their attitude was "since you aren't working, let's spend 18 hours a day together for the next 3 days." I love them, but I was glad to get back to work.
