Hey all you MJL fans...just thought I'd let you know that the video of the recording session for Bernarda Alba is up.

Hurray, I love these videos that Sh-K-Boom are putting out. See What I Wanna See's video is one of my favorites ever on broadway.com. But this one is just as good and I think that they do a great job at marketing the CD (although I still think thatPhylicia Rashad always comes off as fake whenever she speaks! Not as actress (I think she's brilliant)but as her and how she tries to sound all old and wise...I've never bought it and to me she just comes off as a little crazy but the rest of the cast is very insightful with their comments. I love Nikki James and her thoughts on "Adela" were very touching. It's so interesting to watch them do the rythmic stomping and dancing and clapping. I love this CD! *runs off to listen for the 1145th time :)

Well ****...I was going to wait till the next pay period to buy this, but I might not be able to wait. I went to Borders in Atlanta yesterday and they didn't have it, so I bought Tarzan. Damn them!

Nikki M. James is definitely my new Broadway crush. I can't wait to see what she is doing next. (I would love to see her take on Emmie in Caronline.)

I'm praying with ya on that BSoBW2 but yeah Akiva I would also love to see her Emmie. She is amazing on the CD...she gives me chills during "Open the Door". It was great to hear from Sally Murphy who is my latest crush...ahh that voice!

Listen to her on The Wild Party, she is just as intense with that killer voice. I'm so glad she got included in on this show, she sounds just perfect.

I adore Sh-K-Boom for making these! Both of LaChiusa's latest pieces have great mini videos to compliment them. It's always so wonderful to hear insight into certain characters and actors' ways of going about such lush scores. Seeing Alba's video makes me remember how truely beautiful the production was.

I hate that I don't live in the city. I really wish I could actually see shows like this instead of just diving into the recording.

That said, the voices are astounding. Sally Murphy, once again, blows me away.

The video is great. My new Broadway crush is Deborah Abramson, the conductor.

This was such an awesome show. Michael John is a genius and I can't wait for him to get the acclaim he deserves.

I'm still pretty perturbed that it didn't extend, I saw it once and would loved to have seen it again. The choreography was the most thrilling I have ever seen onstage before, especially up close in those wooden chairs they added when the run sold so fast.

I agree, C. The show is great and I want to see another production soon but I can't see how it can be done without that choreography and the intmacy at the Newhouse.

oh I agree 100% C, The Wild Party was what introduced me to the beauty of Sally Murphy's voice. This woman needs a lead role in something. MJL writes some beautiful stuff for this woman but as has been brought up in other threads...it's way to short. I'd love to have hime write her a show. But then there are a lot of performers that I think he should write a show for. As someone who never got to see the show (damn you WI damn you!) I must say watching the choreography even if it was in the recording studio was very breathtaking...seriously how did this not get any awards for at least choreography? And Michael John's score is so haunting. I think more than any other show...I'm not saying that it's my favorite of his (although it's up there) but from very early on there was something very lingering about the score and it stays with me. I find parts of it just so passionate and very dramatic...it's so beautiful

Sally Murphy...ahhh. She's just that good. I love how pure her tone is. No unnecessary heaviness or drama. It's just pure.

I would love for her to record an album of LaChiusa, Guettel and the like.

me too! I want an album from her. and like she said his music really is heaven but with her singing it is even more heavenly! haha I have such a crush lol

Recording this CD looked like a really interesting process. I loved watching that video. And you can add me to the list of people who LOVES Sally Murphy's pure, gorgeous voice.

Amen to that RentBoy86! and plus that means we would get a whole new video. Seriously, Little Fish is such a gorgeous score...it must be recorded. Please Sh-K-Boom please!
