If it's been posted before, I'm sorry, but OUCH!!!!


"Someday audiences who saw Brooklyn, The Musical will be able to boast of seeing Eden Espinosa and Ramona Keller in the show that launched their careers. Those who missed this sight will take comfort in the fact that they were spared the experience of seeing Brooklyn, The Musical.".....

And this from Newsday, (not my favorite reviewer but a great line that sounds like a BKLN lyric):

"105 minutes feel like infinity times forever."

Sounds like Brooklyn at least has performers to redeem it. Weren't the reviews for Dracula much harsher?

Actually, DRACULA got a few positive reviews. I'm still waiting to hear those from this show.

A whole lot harsher. At least Brooklyn has mixed reviews so it can boast what is good.

Broadwaychild89, I don't even think you can call these reviews positive. They are terrible. One of the worst is from talkinbroadway:

"When's the last time you saw junk on a Broadway stage? No, not Dracula The Musical, but real, honest-to-goodness trash that looks as if it could have come from one of the dumpsters next to a Broadway theater? If it's been a while, you now have your chance with Brooklyn, the new musical that just opened at the Plymouth."

What the majority of these critics are saying is what people on these boards and others were saying. And if our reviews weren't mixed, neither are these critics. They're pointing out that the cast is talented, though some need improvement in the acting department, but other than that, they're implying this show isn't worth your money. Not a mixed review at all.

Now the real question is. How long do you think this show will last after all these really BAD reviews. I say it only has a few months.

Look, I was there tonight and let me tell you, it was awful. I checked my phone at least 6 times to see how far we were into the performance. I tried to like it, I really wanted to see it so I thought I would like it. What you have here are 5 talented people, in a show which is completely awful. If they had an intermission half the audience would probably leave. It is torturous.
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

Tiny-toon, WE didn't kill Brooklyn. That show killed itself. I think what crossed many people's minds is how those creators thought this would make it on Broadway in the shape it was in. Not only did that kill the show but fans who came across too STRONG about a show the majority of them hadn't seen and couldn't admit had flaws. It also killed the small hope that people would still be inclined to go see it or go in with at least an open mind. So do not blame us. It was clear as day these were going to be the reviews for the show and quite frankly, these are pretty "nice" reviews considering how badly this show can be trashed.

Actually, on the way home I thought to myself, "This is why Brooklyn has so many shills. They NEED them because the show is so awful they can't count on people actually liking it."
