That's how early I went last year, liotte, and it seemed to be the most opportune time to go. *shrug* I want to be really close. I'll take a nap on my backpack after I get a spot, or something. re: Broadway on Broadway

As someone posted- they will be airing it on Wednesday Sept 21st according to TV guide. I've looked all over yahoo TV guide and it doesn't seem to say it will be on.

Does anybody have any conformation of this?

Thank you

ha, a bunch of people have asked me to, but people tend to get kind of pushy, and want any INCH of free space available. What time are you getting there?

I need to know what Chitty is performing. gah.

just to defend myself Yankeefan, im 150% positive that Jen Barnhart was kate monster last year. i saw them not only perform it once, but 3 times, one for rehearsal purposes and then twice during the show (camera problems, they actually had to do it a lot) and Stephanie D'Abruzzo was NOT there any of the times. and still, most of the times when leads are there, it is to promote an upcoming show (Idina in Wicked the 1st time and Sutton) im not saying that leads dont go, because they do quite often, but dont go on saying it is the only event where all the leads are there

and also, im happy because i dont have to get there til like 10 30 because i have passes for the bleachers. Im real excited, it might be on the side, but they are pretty close and you can see the performers getting ready before they go onstage.

sorry to everyone who has to go earlier

I saw that one too, I've never been a fan of the Chicago performances. Melanie just sat there as a big name and didn't do anything, I thought that at least she should have done a song or spoken or something!

And I hope Rent does something besides Seasons of Love again, I love the song but would like them to do something different for once.

Well, since they have Brooke, they might do something that'll show her off more than... having her just sit on someone's lap.

I hope RENT does something else, too. They did WYO a few years ago. Another Day would make me superbly happy!

Question! The Broadway on Broadway website doesn't list Sweeney Todd as one of the shows performing tomorrow. But I could swear I read somewhere that they WERE performing. Does anyone know for sure what's going on?

ummm, i beleive it was posted on playbill.com, but since the actually BOB website doesnt list it, it could eith be a mistake, a last minute change, or they might not be performing and someone from they show (Patti or Michael probably) may be introducing another performance. i think they would consider that a "sneak peek", just a guess though

its like last year they listed sneak peeks from La Cage and Pacific Overtures....they had movies of Harvey Fierstein and B.D. Wong talking about the origins of the respective shows, with a nice close up of the marquee at the end. That's what they could be doing with Sweeney.

Megan Hilty and Shoshana Bean are singing For Good.

They did For Good last year, couldn't they do something else?

WickedShopofQ is right, last year Stephanie D'Abruzzo was out, and Jen did Kate Monster. But Stephanie was there the year before and she is scheduled to be there tomorrow. Obviously not every lead will always appear, but its definately a show where the leads come if they can and its not expected for the understudies to go on.

BROADWAY ON BROADWAY® 2005

It's the quintessential New York City event: 50,000 spectators at the Crossroads of the World, live numbers from Broadway shows performed on a giant outdoor stage, television cameras, a galaxy of celebrity performers, and a big finale with showers of confetti.

Broadway on Broadway, a free outdoor concert, will be held in Times Square on Sunday, September 18, 2005 at 11:30 a.m.

Christina Applegate (Sweet Chairty) and John Lithgow (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) will host.

This year's production of Broadway on Broadway is the 14th annual concert, offering musical numbers and appearances from almost every play and musical on Broadway, as well as sneak peeks at several upcoming shows scheduled for the 2005-06 theatre season.
