My friend's dance teacher at this summer academy was one of the main choreographers for the RENT movie. I had to find out about this AFTER shooting wrapped......
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.

I didn't have any Broadway people from my high school, but I worked with two people who have been on Broadway. At Six Flags over Mid America I worked with Jason Daniely who is now married to Marin Mazzie, and was in Candide on Broadway, and I also worked with Kendra Kassebaum, the current Glinda on tour, and was on Broadway in ASsassins. John Goodman went to school in this area, and John McDaniel, Rosie's musical director went to school in this area. Scott Bakula went to school in the area also. Met his parents when I was in a production of Romance/Romance. They said I did a good job but were partial to Scotts performance
I did makeup for the high school production of Pippin with Hugh Panero. He played Louis. It was an all boys school so the girls were imported from my high school.
no one who's graduated from my high school. but my drama teacher is friends with Jere Shea (original Giorgio in Passion) and has worked with Stephen Sondheim - says he's a pompous ass, but then, sondheim's so talented hes allowed to be. also, taye diggs used to work at the theatre where I worked the past two summers.
*the choice may have been mistaken, but choosing was not*
Most of the grads from my school go into film or TV. The few who have done stage work on Broadway include June Lockhart, Myrna Loy, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Candace Bergen.
A few non-stage actors: Shirley Temple, Maggie Gyllenhall, Danica McKeller and (lowers head in shame) Tori Spelling.
There also were a lot of daughters of actors, including daughters of Richard Pryor, Richard Basehart, Charles Bronson, and Tom Bosley.
