I was just walking through Lincoln center plaza after going to the library and I saw a crowd of people. And me being a true busy body had to go see what everyone was looking at. When I got there I saw her walking into one of the buildings. She smiled and waved at us and I almost wet my pants. Because like any true theatre fag I adore her. Although many people look down at me for admitting it. Oh well, Dere ain't nobody like babs.
damn straight! well that's perfectly awesome. i'm sure she looked goooorgeous. i only wish we could have frozen time in, say, 1968 and kept her looking/sounding/acting like that. ah, now i will have sweet dreams for sure.
Thank you Type_A_Tiff. I go there all the time and should have known that. I'm sick so all the cough medicine was making me delirious. So I'll re state it: I saw Chita Rivera, Alec Baldwin, and Carla Gugino at JOE Allen's.
Excuse me!!!! Loretta Swit is a radiant Broadway star. Those of us who have seen her glorious performances in SAME TIME NEST YEAR and EDWIN DROOD will attest!
I saw Idina on the subway this summer. She got off the 1/9 at 50th.
I heard this voice asking all the people blocking the door to please move aside. I looked up and saw a woman that I thought looked like Nelly Furtado and then I realized it was her.
I was so excited. :)
It's worth a shot/ :)

I saw Philip Seymour Hoffman outside of The Public during the summer. Which was very exciting to me at the time, even though I knew it wasn't random, since he was working there at the time.
Molly Ringwald on the R train.
I saw Jordan Gelber on the subway as well, I'm assuming after the show, and he was coughing and sneezing a storm and it made me wonder if he had actually gone on that night.
Jim J. Bullock at Starbucks. Made my Hollywood Squares lovin' life.
Also, Cheyenne Jackson at Food Emporium. With lots of groceries.
Nancy Anderson walking from SHE LOVES ME rehearsal to the Al Hirschfeld, presumably. I stopped her. I think I may have scared her. She was on her cell phone. Yes, I am a doofus.
Jordan Gelber two days ago walking to the Golden Theatre.
and a bunch at shows that I can't remember- Except the following:
Over the course of 9 times at NINE-
Diahann Carroll (sat behind me) Ben Vereen, Susan Stroman, Brad Oscar, Rebecca Luker watching the show a few days before she went in. Also, on closing night, a bunch of people who had left the show-- Mary Beth Piel, Linda Mugleston, Chita Rivera, and Elena Shaddow.
At Gavin Creel and Laura Benanti's concert and afterparty-
Stephen Sondheim, Jennifer Gambatese, Jeanine Tesori
and, at the back corner table at Joe's Pub was a giant circle of musical theatre goodness: Julia Murney, Michele Pawk, John Dossett, Jerry Zaks, Rena Strober, Maury Yeston, David Leveaux
Now I remember a few more. I saw Michael Cerveris after the Passion Benfit Concert. Along with Marin Mazzie and Donna Murphy. I also saw Alec Baldwin again when I went to see After the Fall, then right after that with Carla Gugino and some other friends at Joe Allen's. That was the second time I had seen both of them. The original assistant from the Producers at Joe Allen's. People such as Viola Davis, Harvey Firestein (sp?), Judy McLaine, Mary Testa... at the 2004 Drama Desk Awards.
-Mary Tyler Moore at a restaurant we were eating at (sorry can't remember the name of the restaurant)- I passed a note to her limo driver waiting outside b/c I didn't want to bother her eating. I wrote on a post-it that my mom is a huge fan, that didn't want to interrupt her while she ate, but could she please send an autographed picture to us? Left my address. A month later, my mom got a personalized picture! My mom was THRILLED! CLASS ACT!
-Shirley MacLaine coming out of a show (years ago, can't remember what show, I think Titanic?!)
-Christopher Reeve and his wife, coming out of Chicago, a year after his accident.
Sorry for the lack of names, but when you see stars that big, all other details escape my brain!
Jerry Mitchell on the subway on 42nd and Josh Strickland in a little drink shop on 47th.

Forgot one! I was walking down the sidewalk in my neighborhood and I walked past Michale McGrath and I didn't say anything but he said hey because I was wearing a Spamalot T-shirt and staring at him. lol.

Harvey Fierstein walking past the Imperial theatre on his way to Fiddler On the Roof. I didn;t know if it was him or not. I was dying for him to say something so I could be sure, but when I saw him walk down the street and into the theatre, i knew it had to be him. he smiled at me.
<--- the set of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I was assistant stage manager for during the 2007 season at the STNJ outdoor stage.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~
There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel. ~Curtains~
It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known. ~A Tale of Two Cities ~

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Patrick Wilson outside of "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown." Idina Menzel walking downtown. Laura Bell Bundy on 8th Ave. John Tartaglia picking up his laundry at the laundromat. Sutton Foster at "Elegies" at Joe's Pub the other night (although her fiance was performing so it was kind of a given that she'd be there). Lots of RENT cast members, usually at a club/bar where one of them was doing a gig, so that sort of doesn't count.
Not Broadway, but I saw Jeanine Garafalo walking her dog on Christopher St. Also saw Jake Gyllenhaal and Brandon Sexton on the subway (not at the same time).
