Posted: 11/22/14 at 9:51pmHey fellow Broadway people. I'm trying to find suggestions of a tattoo with the short Broadway quotes. It won't have to do with a lyrics of a show but more likely something about Broadway or theater. Do you have any suggestions?

^^^Oh, please...I'm an adult, I have a few tattoos (one of them theatrically related) and I don't regret one of them.
That said: I would recommend against text. Lettering does not, as a rule, hold up well and is difficult to touch up. Might be better to go with an image.

"Please don't disfigure your body with graffiti. You will regret it when you are an adult."
Oh, shut up.

All of my tattoos are art related:
- Millenium Approaches on my right foot (Angels in America)
- Perestroika on my left foot (Angels in America)
- Hello stranger. on my nape (Closer)
- tanzt
tanzt on my right wrist (an hommage to Pina Bausch)
- a pair of tiny tiny silver slippers on my right ankle (The Wizard of Oz)
- a tiny teacup with a clock on my left ankle (Alice in Wonderland)
- Si un jour la vie t'arrache à moi
Si tu meurs que tu sois loin de moi
Peu m'importe si tu m'aimes
Car moi je mourrais aussi on my right calf (from Edith Piaf's L'Hymn à l'Amour)
and my latest:
- the first notes of "The Heart Asks Pleasure First", on my left forearm

I would make a list of your favorite songs from Broadway and go from there. I have five tattoos and the only thing I would ask people is where the placement would look best.
It's up to you, though! Everyone gets them for different reasons!
My closest one to Broadway is "She said, 'A soul--" from Gregory Maguire's book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West on my collarbone.
I'm definitely getting a Sunday In the Park With George tattoo, but I've been sitting on the idea for years and can't quite figure out the final product!

I apologise without reservation to Jeannierocks85 and everyone else. Jeannierocks85, I hope you find a quote that appeals to you and that your tattoo turns out well.
