Well there you go ! The following message will appear if you try to enter the discount code for ITH:
Newsflash: "In the Heights" won 4 Tony Awards... All Discounts Revoked... Use this link to buy good seats at regular price!
Let's see how long that lasts.
TRISH: GO AWAY.
The discounts weren't THAT great to begin with. You only saved 10 bucks on orch seats on the weekend... I didn't even bother waiting for a code for that price!
Well, that's just mean. It's like they never want me to see the show again!
No, they know they just won the Tony and people will be coming in droves. They don't need discounts.
Don't worry, they'll be back up within a year.
A couple of years ago I was selling my second home in Lewes De. It had been on the market for months, and we had dropped the price a couple times. Then the Delaware daily paper did a full page story about the house in their real estate section with lots of pictures and an interview with how the house was renovated.
Our agent had us immediately raise the price above the original asking price. It sold in three days.
It's all the same. Hot commodities are always priced to match market demand.
Theater producers don't spend 10 million dollars to market hit shows to discount ticket buyers.
and you act like the show has been on TKTS a lot. it's a good show people are willing to pay for. it ain't The Little Mermaid! get over it.
With the current state of the economy, these shows have to make money while they're able. If they can get top prices for seats -good for them. I wish them well. If I can't afford it right now, I like others, won't go see the show. As the Tony effect wears off discounts will surface and eventually I'll see the show anyway. In the meantime, there's plenty of wonderful shows at affordable prices. Check out Adding Machine, it's the best musical of the season and it's affordable. Don't forget about off-Broadway. If you want to see good shows at affordable prices, it's a good place to start.
