haha... it's funny to hear someone talk about Wicked who doesn't know the actors' names....
I agree that JLT copied alot of what Kristin did (but it's only tiny thing's here and there)... but she's done such a great job with that role... mad props to her. She's amazing

George Hearn is a Broadway legend who has quite a few Tonys and a hell of a reputation in theater. Good to know that he's getting entrance applause.

hmmm understudies are real people too.. .
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!

Why don't you read your playbill before asking stupid questions like if we've heard of George Hearn. We have, by the way. We've also heard of Carolee Carmello. And if we hadn't, and were interested, we'd read their Playbill bios. That's what they are there for.

Again, I did not save the playbill and I do remember now that her name is Jennifer Laura Thomposon because i saw it on the billing. I know YOU guys know who George Hearn is as do I. But, I wasn't sure about all the normal people in theatre knowing who he was.

I agree. Understudies rock!! Some of the best performances I've ever seen were from understudies. For example, when I saw the Millie tour, Laura Shoop was on as Miss Dorothy, and she was wonderful, and every bit as good as Darcie Roberts, Pamela Issacs, and Matt Cavenaugh.
There's always room for pathos - and jazz hands.

I repeat, that's what the Playbill bios are for. Don't be so lazy. Stop asking us for information you have right in front of you and continue to throw away. We're neither your mother nor your teachers. We weren't born knowing this information either. We went out and found it. Try reading. That's how "normal" people learn.

Rathnait, mayby you need to to go to bed. I do not throw the playbills away! I leave them at the seat.

I know understudies are people too I just think they always seem to be not as good as the real person except Katy Grenfell(Marissa Jaret Winokurs understudy)

Oh god! you are the kind of person that understudies HATE to perform for......there is NOTHING worse than hearing the announcement of your name as going on as an understudy, hearing a bunch of moans....then going out and having to prove yourself! Until you have felt that kind of pressure....SHUT UP!

That's why they don't make announcements about understudies anymore.

pab, my list of credits is that long too. I'm talking about normal people. Not theatre people. I would not have expected an applause for him like there was for Joey Grey.
That's right. I dont like understudies when theyre not as good as the real people. You shut up!

They dont make announcements ONLY IF there is a flyer in the program AND its is posted at the entrance....if one of those are missing. They HAVE to make an annoucement or the producer is fined.....and the actor gets paid extra

Ok.....
At least you liked Joey :)
As for everything else:
I LOVE how people have all of a sudden started to diss Kristin - WTF!
First it was Idina than all of a sudden it's now KC! Am I going crazy? LOL
I'm not saying she's perfect but she has a much stronger voice that JLT. JLT's voice is MUCH more soothing than KC's - but that's what adds depth to the role.
George Hearn is just like Joel Grey - famous without the help of modern shows like Wicked!
It's a good think I like your [Dracula] icon! :)

bronxbound, did mommy and daddy take you for your 13th birthday or are they normal people who wouldn't go to the theatre?

First of all, if you look at my response you will see that it was not to you but to Bobby457. His remarks are in quotes and I was responding to him so if you need to tell someone SHUT UP tell it to him and not me.
The fact that "normal people" applauded for him should show you that he is known by "normal people" and they have either seen or heard of his work which in fact is more extensive than that of Joel Grey.

thanks, I love John! One of the few "real" musicians in mainstream music right now...
haha noticed how I used the term "real" purely for comedic affect

Yeah, what is a "real" musician?
I know his work his more extensive than Grey's. I was using an analogy.
Besides, Sean McCourt is the only Wizard of Oz for me!
