Super awesome. Maybe this will be his 5,000th emmy award.
Is there any word about who's directing the project? All reports say that Robert Schenkkan is "adapting" his own play, but I assume that means he is writing the screenplay. Is he also planning on directing?
^Does he even direct?
Nope, he's never directed according to IMDB, which is why I was wondering who's actually going to direct. I imagine they just haven't secured a director.

Maybe Steven Spielberg will direct it...since he is attached to it..

Spielberg is producing and according to the reports he was instrumental in bringing the project to HBO and keeping Cranston in the transfer. I just find it odd that they wouldn't announce him as a director, when he is mentioned in all the press releases as a producer. It makes the most sense that he'll direct, but who knows? I guess this might also have something to do with the fact that the project is being conceived as a mini-series, so there is a chance that the episodes will be directed by more than one director. I'm curious.
