Buddy's Closing!

7 February, and it's going back on tour (where it belongs). Apparently they're doing 'something special' on 3 Feb to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the plane crash. God knows what that entails. Probably old men crying or a singalong of American Pie.

re: Buddy's Closing!

Its been on a life support machine since last March anyway!

It has to one of the luckiest shows in town to have The Ducjess as long as it has. Its a very much saought after theatre and 3 productions in the last year have pulled out of its schedules enabeling 'Buddy' to ramble on.
One of those shows was to be the original 'Xanadu' which I was involved in for ages but that fell thru with the New York producers getting cold feet.
Maybe Mr Ian has it now for his much rumored production?

I'm so glad I'll have Thriller to fill the Buddy shaped hole in my heart. I do love quality.

re: Buddy's Closing!

On second thoughts Buddy, please do not leave us!

My reaction to Buddy could be so different, if I hadn't learned that Thriller is going to be the next show.

just reaching for my Prozac.

re: Buddy's Closing!

'Thriller' isn't going to The Duchess its going to The Lyric.
Not sure what will take the place of 'Buddy' but it could be Sooty and it will have higher quality production values!

re: Buddy's Closing!

I saw Sooty live when I was about five and I bloody loved it. I also saw Button Moon which disappointed me because the Freddy Teddy looked nothing like the one on telly.

My favourite panto dame gag:

1ST UGLY SISTER: Smell my new perfume. It's called 'Come To Me'.
2ND UGLY SISTER: Ooh, it doesn't smell like 'Come to Me'...

re: Buddy's Closing!

Mine,
The dame makes her first entrance, shows the audience her shopping, out of the bag comes a huge, huge bra with 3 cups! --audience laugh!
Dame- 'I'm taking this back tomorrow! (pause) The straps broke!'
Audience fall off their seats and me! -nearly on the floor up stage centre!!!!
