He will, however, withhold kisses from those with bad breath.
Is it the passing air of California girls that has delayed Mr. Morrison's return to the theatre more than his TV contract?

Don't let the "muck" in muckraking fool you. This cannot be dignified as muckraking.

Well now the entertainment shows are linking him with Cameron Diaz. I caught the promo for the piece on ET earlier but didn't watch it. (Or it may have been Extra) here is the E! report:

"I'm reading lines and singing songs written for me."
I don't think any song has been written for him, including the scores of Light in the Piazza and Hairspray (both of which were written before he was hired). But part of an actor's charm is often his hubris. They love themselves so, and that's cute.
"...he's developing a musical based on the life of James Dean..." (ooo! I hope there's a scene and song about men burning him with cigarettes!) "...and hopes to play the
starring role." (what, he's "developing" it and doesn't know if he'll get the part?)

If you think of it like this, it is quite accurate:
"I'm reading lines and singing songs [which have arrangements] written for me."
Mr. Morrison's songs and it seems like all the songs on the show have original arrangements. His arrangements are certainly tailored to his vocal range and ability. One of my favorite arrangements they've done has been "One Less Bell to Answer" with Kristen Chenoweth. I wish all the songs in the show could be as elegant as that. I wonder who wrote that arrangement, since composer Bacharach is still alive? It seemed an original arrangement for GLEE.
I wonder if the only changes you make to an arrangement are harmony if that is considered adding anything original to the arrangement. A mix of timing and tempo and vocal entry changes I think would be, but I don't know about just doing something like adding the harmony rule of three, for example. I doubt it because that is more like just adding a math equation.
I didn't care for the trashy MTV Britney Spears song routines a couple of the cheerleaders had on the show, just garbage, so boring.
As for Cameron Diaz, I can't figure out why she doesn't have a limo and an armed bodyguard for going out at night in Hollywood. She has made a ton of money at what she does and I don't think she's giving adequate consideration to her safety or those around her considering how well known she is. That paparazzi shot of shooting Mr. Morrison's face through his windshield is so invasive, plus the person who took it was obviously standing in front of the car, about to be driven, which is terrible.

I don't watch the show, but have been shown song clips from it, and each time I've noticed that the arrangements are direct, note-for-note copies of already-famous versions of the song in question. It could be that they do original arrangements, but I haven't heard them.

Well, thanks.
I thought GLEE had been contributing new arrangements for some of those variations off the original versions.
I shall go take a swig of my treacle and cry in my soup.

No, not at all.
I was thanking you for the information.
And bemoaning the apparent lack of originality in the arrangements which I had been crediting to the show's creators.
I am yet consoled, however, for:
'Beauty is truth, truth beauty, - that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.' John Keats
And to quote further from Keats' "Ode to a Grecian Urn" as it seems somehow relevant to those unheard wouldbe melodies:
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;
Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear'd,
Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone:
Fair youth, beneath the trees, thou canst not leave
Thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare;
Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goal - yet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!

If you coulda thunk it, forget it.
Mr. Morrison prefers people who are "not like a movie star" which begs the question...
