Except Sweeney Todd was far from ruined.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Unlike the Sweeney DVD of the show? That didn't stop Hollywood.

You jackasses say "Hollywood" like it's a bad thing.

Maybe that's how I came across but that's not what I meant. At all. Don't get me wrong, I love Hollywood. I own hundreds of DVDs, VHSs, etc. and my dad owns a video store. All I meant was that we have a perfectly good professional on-stage version as it is and I truly believe that a "Hollywood version" with Tom Cruise as the Baker, Katie Holmes as the Baker's Wife, and Suri as Little Red would just ruin the entire it. For me at least. And no matter what the intentions of the casting director are, in the end they're going to go for the big names rather than talent.

And I don't appreciate the name calling. What is this? Grade 2?

I've always thought that Into the Woods was a better fit for Burton than Sweeney Todd. I haven't seen many of his films, but based on the ones I have, I think this is right up his alley.

And Johnny Depp is just wrong for this musical-- I can't imagine him in any role.
There's a lot I am not certain of...
