This may sound like a stupid post, but I'm just looking for some help here. This will be my first time buying tickets for a Broadway show, and I'm trying hard to spend as little money as possible.
I'm hoping to go to NYC from July 21-25th. There are four shows I really want to see, but I know it's all price dependent. In order of preference: Dear Evan Hansen, Come From Away, Miss Saigon, Anastasia.
I've been looking at Telecharge for a while, and it's bothering me that it doesn't let you select seats off a chart, and doesn't show you comparing price options. I'm willing to have seats all the way in the back for all of these shows, I just don't want obstructed view.
I'm looking for some insight on how to spend the least money possible on my trip. My mom will be coming with me, so we will be unable to wait in SR lines or TKTS. I've read about rush tickets, but I'm still a little confused, how does that work?? Is it easier to buy tickets by calling the box office?? The price breakdown on Telecharge is really confusing.
Thanks in advance!! (Please excuse any grammar errors :)

Are you buying them on your iPhone? If you use a desktop computer then you can select your seat. Also check Theatermania to see if there are any discounts and buy through them.
For Telecharge, after you click "Find Tickets" on the far right side of the banner, item number 4 allows you to choose seats from the seating chart-- if there are any available.
Just a heads up, the only thing that might be available for Dear Evan Hansen would be premium seats. It's pretty much sold out through the fall. EDIT: Just out of curiosity, I checked and Telecharge currently does not have any availability for your dates.
Yes, you most definitely cCAN choose your own seats. On the same page you enter your date and number of tickets.
You cannot buy tickets calling the box office. Your choices are: in person at the box office or on line through either telecharge or ticketmaster (dependent on the show itself)
Some shows offer discount codes: try Broadway Box or Theatermania. Today's Tix also has discounts, but you are buying the tickets blind, and they really aren't any cheaper then the other dicounts I mentioned
The more popular a show, the less likely there are any discounts. I'm not even sure if DEH has seats available (without a premium price) for the summer.
