Hi, I was wondering if you can buy tickets to the tonys, and if so how much are they and for which section in the theatre? thanks
They're very expensive (like $200+) and you sit in the balcony, I believe.

Tickets to the tonys will go on sale sometime in May and can be bought through ticketmaster. I thinking prices range from $150 to $400 plus and where you sit depends on how much you want to pay. The cheapest tickest are balcony obviously, waaay up there. I've heard those sell out the day they are posted so keep an eye out
I always want to buy tickets, but tend to miss the day they go onsale or don't have enough money, etc. Can anyone who has gone before give me more info. I was wondering if it the experience of being there is worth the price or if I am better off just sitting at home and watching it on tv.... thanx
Put it this way, Radio City Music Hall is a huge theatre. The seats available to the public are binocular seats. My suggestion, stay at home, because there are no screens to view it on in the theatre. And at 150 a pop, do you really want to pay that much to see specks on the stage?
Ive seen other Shows at Radio City, (the Christmas Show and some other things) and the last few rows are WAY UP THERE. I sat about 3 rows from the back for the Christmas Show and i could barely see the stage, yet alone the people. Im not saying the experience of being at the tonys isnt worth it, but if the seats are way up there dont expect to get more than the experience out of it.

Okay well I've been to the Tony's the past two years. Yes,the tickets are expensive!!! We payed like 300 something dollars for each ticket. the 1st year we were in second mezzanine and they weren't bad and the second year we sat in the 3rd mezzanine (balcony) in the LAST ROW!!!! Althought the sound wasn't fabulous way back there, it was totally worth the experience!!! I would never discourage somebody from going!!! Oh and also, there are two huge screens on either side of the stage so you can see even if you are in the back row!!! I mean just beong in the same room as all those stars is so much fun!!! I hope I could answer some of your questions!!!

I think (based only on memory) that tickets usually go on sale the morning nominations are announced, in early May.
The seats are really far from the stage, but I would agree with the others who have said that getting the balcony seats is worthwhile, at least once. In some ways, the experience is frustrating -- because you don't see as much as you would on TV, and you can't do the talking (and eating) that you could do elsewhere -- but it's really fun to cheer along, and to be surrounded by people who are also passionate about what is going on onstage. A lot of the exerience of going (as a non-participant) isn't the sitting, but going into Radio City Music Hall, hanging out in the lobby, dressing up (if you enjoy that), etc. And you can always watch the telecast when you get home....
Yeah. Tickets to the Tony's go onsale the morning that the nominations are announced thru Ticketmaster. I went to school late last year because I knew neither of my parents would remember to go online and get tickets. I paid a hundred-something for both of my tickets last year and me and my date sat in the second tier, center. It was one level above the orchestra and the $$ was totally worth it! Can't wait to go again this year! Good luck!

A friend of mine was a seat filler once. Someone on here's gotta know how you could hook that up. I'm guessing it's free, and you get to [move around] but sit closer. Maybe they don't do it anymore.

I looked into seat filling a couple weeks ago, but I wasn't too encouraged by what i found out. if anyone is interested in checking it out http://seatfiller.com/
the best seat is my living room couch

MissNY, that's a very interesting site. I think I liked this quote the best -

I also love how they want a resume and a headshot for the job. Do you suppose people pad up their resumes with all the times they've spent sitting on their hinders?
