I want to get tix to see the final show
But do those even go on sale to the general public?
Everywhere I go, I only can get tix up to July 28...but I want the 29.
Any ideas on how I can manage this?
I hear about people buying tix to closing shows all the time, so how do u guys do it?
Any help would be awesome!
Ticket brokers.
Or maybe the show isn't opened to the general public. Some shows that have run significantly long on Broadway have made the last show an invite only type deal, as was the case with Les Mis.
The people that buy tickets to shows that are closing that you hear about are probably people who have bought tickets to the closing of Wedding Singer, Sweet Charity, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, etc.
Thanks Millie
I found a couple places that have tix for the 29...but they are like 200. That can't be right.
What if I called the theater. Would I have better luck?
If the date isn't listed on ticketmaster then I doubt it's only on sale to the general public. At least not yet. Closer to that date if there are tickets available they might become available online or through the box office, but for now it looks like closing night would be invite only as millie_dillmount stated.
This may be a Disney thing - wasn't the opening night of MARY POPPINS by invite only?
I don't think it is a Disney thing because I saw Aida's final performance with no problem.
Thanks for the help guys. I found some tickets, so it looks like I will be able to go!
I;m not looking for tickets for the final show, but I just want to say I hate ticketmaster because they keep giving me these one set of seats, which I don't want and I can't choose other seats at that performance!!!
Kgshrauder, the answer to your problem with ticketmaster is simple. That is the only seats they have with the number of tickets you gave em.
Anyways, invite only to opening night is not a disney only thing. Lots of shows do that. However, usually if they don't fill up all the seats via the invites then usually two to three days before they would sell em regularly.
Yes, the opening night of Poppins was invite only. As was Camron's other show that was opening up in the fall. That show would be Les Miserables and that show had some extra tickets available for the otherwise invite only preformance.
I would suspect that disney would be inviting people to thee last preformance ever of BATB.
It was supposed to close 5 years ago, but THEY kept coming.

That's not true. Ticketmaster's system is set up so that if you reject a seat and search again, if that seat has not yet been sold it will come up again. Very frustrating. I get around this by opening up multiple browser windows and searching in a second window while the first window is still "holding" the seats I don't want. That way I can see at least a few different options before the first transaction times out and the same tickets start showing up again.
